No, but Darryl Hannah was. You need some eye candy somewhere. Otherwise I dont see a ton of (straight) males and teenage boys wanting to see a movie about a male mermaid.

It's a romantic comedy. That in itself means that there aren't a ton of straight males and teenage boys that would want to see it.

You just need a ton of women drooling over Tatum to drag their husband/boyfriend. Worked for Titanic.

Kate Winslet's tits did that just fine.

re: Splash (remake)

Do women really want a Channing Tatum who doesn't have a dick?

I only know Jillian Bell from playing foul-mouthed brash or obnoxious characters. I actually think she's pretty funny in those roles, but I'm not sure how that will play into this...

re: Splash (remake)

The only way I would even bother to see a Splash remake with Channing Tatum in it is if he played the merperson, so kudos to the filmmakers for getting that much of it right.

I'm fine with this remake -- IF they treat it like they did 21 Jump Street. Screw the sentimentality of the original... just make it raunchy and I'm game.

Why couldn't we just get a straight remake and have Scarlett Johansson strolling around Liberty Island topless?

With this and Magic Mike Tatum should come out of the closet.

It would be a big boom to the gay rights movement.

Channing Tatum is the eye candy. You are aware of the target audience for romantic comedies, right?

Seriously, don't be surprised if Jonah gets the old John Candy role.

I'm guessing he WON'T be dropping change and looking up skirts in this one...it was borderline creepy in 1984 - it would be downright offensive now.

re: Splash (remake)

Showed my kids the flick last year and the "coin" bit had slipped my mind. Pretty creepy.
