Venturing over to the world of Spider-Man ...

wishbone earns -5 for

ivelostr2 went a bit off the beaten path with -5 points for Doc Ock's wife, Rose

fumanstan stuck with the villainous side with Harry Osbourn (-5)

Finally, I'm amazed this wasn't matched, but A-aron get Gwen Stacy all to himself for -5.

I'm pretty sure he was alive and kicking in his last scene with no suggestion that he'd be dying.

Congratulations fumanstan and Shannon Nutt for winning that question with a -2. Yeah.

There is no hint that Ozymandias dies.

Re: Another movie SHEEP game: SHEEPERHERO II

Jumping over to the Batman universe ...

brainee took the nine lives of Selina Kyle for -5

Mr. Flix went for her former employer, Mac Schreck for -5

sleepyhead55 went more modern with a timeless villain, Ras A Gul (-5)

screwadu stayed classic though, with the Joker (-5)

Finally ... a controversial answer. majorjoe23 went with the Joker's buddy Detective Eckhart. Initialyy I was going to rule this wrong as too insignificant, but then I felt sorry for everybody after that last question. Pity -5 for you majorjoe.

But he was Porkins! And he's got quite a bit of screen time in Batman. I'd say more than Mrs. Ock in SM2.

If the character has a name, some lines of dialog and could concievably be mentioned in a full plot synopsis, I'd consider them "significant" enough to count.

She was not significant either. Abob is handing out gifts.

This is from the SM2 wikipedia plot synopsis:

In a demonstration, a power spike causes the fusion reactor to destabilize. Octavius refuses to shut down the reactor, which goes critical, killing his wife and damaging his robotic arms; in the process, the inhibitor chip controlling the arms is rendered useless.

The only mention of the character, and not even by name.

Eckhart fares a little better:

With the help of corrupt police lieutenant Max Eckhardt (William Hootkins), Grissom sets up Napier to be murdered during a raid at the Axis Chemicals plant. During the ensuing shootout, Napier kills Eckhardt, after which Batman suddenly appears. The two struggle, and Napier is accidentally knocked into a vat of chemical waste.

Count Dooku -- Elektra

I agree with you Count D. The question is worded in such a way that your answer is defensible.

Re: Another movie SHEEP game: SHEEPERHERO II

I think it's arguable that Selina Kyle didn't die in Batman Returns. She's alive and well right before the credits roll. Sure, lip-service is given to her giving up some of her "nine lives," but there's no indication she actually had supernatural powers in the movie. Don't hate me, brainee, I'm just sayin'...

I was trying to decide among Uncle Ben, the Wasp, and Bucky Barnes. Glad I didn't go with Ben, my first instinct.

The question says died or "died". Abob was pretty much inviting answers where characters didn't really die but it looks like they did.

Hey, I picked the female lead from my movie, and a character who was not a villain.

Spoiler:

There were ABC executives who questioned if Garner was sexy enough to play the lead on Alias

After Uncle Ben, I was thinking of Superman, but figured it was so recent that it would match.

I was going to complain about the Wasp answer, but this basically accounts for that too.

She did survive several point blank gun shots with no ill effects, as well as an electrical shock that turned the other recipient into a charred compose. I'd say that is at least close to something supernatural.

There must be over a hundred acceptable answers to that question.

Yeah. Sucks to match that one.

That was actually my intent with this question. I should have re-written it in a way to emphasize that aspect -- characters who "died" but are not dead. I got hung up on the "significant" wording and lost sight of what I intended. I was surprised so many people went for the literal interpretation. Oh well, I'll tuck that one away for another day ...

I thought about Storm and Lois Lane, but thought they'd be ruled as incorrect because they didn't really die...

Are there any insignificant characters who "died" but weren't really dead?

"Oh my god, this innocent bystander has been killed!.....No wait, he's just badly injured. He'll pull through!"
