Honestly, I don't really remember either one but I do recall liking the second one better. Don't know if I would feel the same today, but I haven't watched either one since their release.

I remember not hating BW2, for what it's worth.

Wingard doing a sequel to the first one is interesting to me. I'll probably go see it.

Really? I was bored as fuck and I even saw it in the theater. A guy when it was over yelled well that fucking sucked. I said YUP!!

So this is a sequel that is essentially a remake? I assume the sister storyline is just there to connect it for people who saw the original, but from the trailer it looks like this movie hits every beat of the original, even taking some lines verbatim.

Can't wait for this - I was a huge fan of the first. Looks like they did it a bit of justice as well (didn't whore it out with visible, cheesy monsters or anything).

This came out of nowhere (for me anyway, haven't been following too many movies as of late) so it was a nice surprise.

I've heard that different people have different experiences, and BWP was definitely a movie where there was no middle ground. People seemed to really get into it, or they just threw up their hands and wondered what the deal was. Two of my group loved it, but one just didn't. There was a lot of hype, but that doesn't mean the movie wasn't effective for a lot of people.

I saw it when I was 14 on opening night. I remember walking out of the theater and my legs were feeling numb. One of the top 5 theater going experiences of my life. I still enjoy the film to this day.

I was 24 when it came out, and literally didn't sleep a wink the night I saw it. Unnerved me like no move had since The Exorcist when I was 8.

Still plan to see it this weekend, but the hype has considerably lessened.

Random observation, but it's not hard to notice that the most positive reviews come from horror themed movie review sites. Biased much?

Over the years I've learned that reading reviews for horror movies is completely futile. It's extremely rare that mainstream critics write favorable reviews. Even when they do, there's no guarantee that I'll enjoy it (I'm looking at you, The Babadook!).

I actually loved The Babadook but HATED It Follows. Bummer the film is dropping in the ratings but still seeing it tomorrow.

I still want to see it. Think I'll check it out over the weekend.
