Which The Jungle Book: 1967 or 2016?

Which one gets the nod? Is it even a correct comparison?

Having just seen 2016, but have to see 1967 again or for the first time. I go with 2016. Movie was phenomenal. Breathtaking even. Just gorgeous movie to behold...

4 stars.

You left the best version out of the poll: the 1942 live-action version starring Sabu and produced by Alexander Korda.

And the best thing about it? It used all REAL animals! What a radical concept!

To me the Sabu one was a bit boring as a kid, but that's because I was used to the Disney version. Kind of like going from Homeward Bound (1993) to The Incredible Journey from the 70's. I'm sure if I go back to it, I might appreciate it more.

Yeah. Animals that had no protected rights as an existing entity.

What about the one from the 90's with the guy who played Bruce Lee in the biopic "Dragon"?

Oh yeah? Well, there were a helluva lot more tigers and elephants in existence in 1942 when they were "unprotected" than there are now. But I guess you'd rather have a world of CGI animals instead of real ones.

Well, neither did extras. I heard DeMille used them for target practice during breaks from filming.
