Stephen Lang was my #1 pick.

He looks fine... but definitely too small. I guess we'll see how it plays out on screen.

ALSO - NOT ENOUGH POUCHES! can't anyone get it right when it comes to the source material?!?!?!?

Well, Lang is still waiting for Avatar to be made and Lundgren is filming Aquaman.

Looks fine to me, I don't think Lang is any bigger or would have looked any better in that regard.

yeah Brolin and Lang are both listed as 5'10".

I think in terms of looking like cable in face/hair/etc, he's fine. but reynolds is 5" taller than both of them, and deadpool should not be taller than cable... So let's see if they deal with that with fancy movie tricks...

Re: Deadpool 2: Electric Boogaloo - blah blah blah

Wiki says Lang and Brolin are both 5'10. At least Lang has the bulk. Getting shredded doesn't show through his costume. Isn't cable supposed to be about the same size as Colossus/Piotr?

Yeah I'm not totally feeling that picture. He doesn't look terrible but he doesn't seem to have the bulk that I envision Cable to have. Costume and face looks a bit iffy too.

Re: Deadpool 2: Electric Boogaloo - blah blah blah

Cable is a character that i dont feel particularly strongly about, so Brolin looks pretty good to me. I have a feeling this will end up being better than the first movie (which i felt was a bit over rated).

Re: Deadpool 2: Electric Boogaloo - blah blah blah

Lang was always my #1 choice -- he's a muscular cat and was about the right age for Cable. Granted, he did mention that he would have loved to have played him, but that he was committed to the Avatar sequels, so it seemed like Fox had him on a "hold" that he couldn't work on anything else and screw up scheduling.

Brolin just seems like he's pocket-sized. I do like the gun and teddy bear in the pic, but that's about it. We'll see how it goes. Maybe they'll use some movie magic and make him over 6 feet tall.

Re: Deadpool 2: Electric Boogaloo - blah blah blah

It looks like the movie executives got both castings wrong. Cable and Domino don't look good at all and each character's design is an integral part of their popularity.

That was the one nice thing that struck me about the first Deadpool when I saw it. They pretty much copied everyone's look from the comics.

Fox never expected Deadpool's level of box office success and it looks like the studio decided they needed to meddle in the sequel to a blockbuster, after leaving the first movie alone.

If any superhero character is supposed to look like he's on steriods, it is Cable. This is a failure on Fox's part.

I think Lori Petty from Tank Girl is more buff.

You know... The more I think about this - why does cable have to be roided out and huge? Just because liefeld likes drawing guys with huge thighs, excessive muscles, and tiny (or non-existent) feet?

It's been a while since I read all the cable storylines, but there's nothing in his power set that indicates he needs to be huge (instead of say, The Hulk).

Now, I do think he should look physically imposing compared to Deadpool (so needs to be taller, but not 9 feet tall and as wide as a house)

No one ever said he was supposed to 9 feet tall and wide as a house. Fuck the way Liefeld drew him.

Re: Deadpool 2: Electric Boogaloo - blah blah blah

And to me, i don't see that huge a difference between those pics and Brolin. I'm throwing in the fact that NO ACTOR has arms that big. Very few HUMANS have arms that big. Not sure of any actor working today that would fit the bill physically and also act (so no, no Kevin Nash). Lang and Brolin are equal physically at this point (We've seen brolin getting ripped).

Throw a blue shirt on him and some shoulder pads, and i doubt anyone would be that upset. To me, all i care is that in the finished film, he's taller than deadpool (which can be easily done). So i'm reserving judgment.

would love to see the brolin pic with blue/gold and X's

Hell, even if brolin went sleeveless in his pic and showed off his arms more it would look more like the cable we know.

Re: Deadpool 2: Electric Boogaloo - blah blah blah

I mean, I guess it's ok? Look at how small compared to his comic book counter part Bishop was portrayed?

The only person to pull off the size difference has been Jackman/Wolverine.
