"Studio CanalStudioCanal and Beijing-based DMG Entertainment will remaster in 3D James Cameron's blockbuster Terminator 2. The director will supervise the remastering process and produce the 3D version of the film, which will open in theaters across the world next year.

The 3D version of Terminator 2 will premiere in China, where the film has never had an official theatrical release.

Following the announcement, Rodolphe Buet, StudioCanal president, international distribution and marketing, said: "We are very excited to be teaming up with DMG and James Cameron to breathe new life into T2 and bring it in 3D to cinema-goers in China."

Terminator 2 in theaters again seems cool. 3D is a big from me though.

T2 has been completely played out for me but will likely get this version just because I love 3D- when "Freddy's Dead" came out the same year with at least one segment in 3D, I thought Terminator 2 should've also been in 3D. Is there anyone who DOESN'T have at least ONE version of T2 in one format or another?

Saw it on the Big screen a couple of years ago, will gladly go see it again.

Keep in mind this likely means a very good blu-ray release as well. The previous versions have all been lacking.. and yes, let's hope Abyss and True Lies won't be far behind.

ive never seen a film that was post converted to 3D that wasn't utterly pointless.

Jurassic Park is still my fav 3D film... when they take the time and $$ to do it right... it can be great.

I've see quite a few 3D transfers that look pretty darn good.

We have modern films post converted to 3D now. Pacific Rim was the bomb w/ the 3D in there.

Titanic was wonderful in 3D. Since T2 is also a James Cameron film I have high hopes it'll turn out just as great.

However, I'd prefer Cameron focused on making new films (that aren't Avatar) than spend his time screwing with 3D technology. He's far too fun of a filmmaker to spend his time developing camera equipment.

T2 is my favorite film of all time but I don't give a shit about 3-D let alone some mediocre up conversion.

All these years we've sheltered the Chinese from Edward Furlong's performance and now we go and do this. Those poor people.

I'm all for this if it finally gets us a an honest to god remaster of T2. Don't fuck w/ the colors, Cameron. T2 has some SPECIFIC AS FUCK colors to with. It's one of my top ten favorites. It's look is so goddamn concrete, I'm going to pop a vein if he fucks w/ it.
