As for it being front loaded, I have to think that the movie actually being good and getting rave reviews will help it's lasting power. Especially with people already wanting to go to repeat viewings. I work at a nerdy tech company and had a company showing Friday morning, and there were already people that saw it Thursday night as well or planning to see it again Friday night.

I've seen it twice already (both with prebooked tickets) and the only reason I didn't see it a third time today is because my theater's showings were all sold out.

I saw it on Thursday with my wife, we already have tickets with a larger group of family members to see it again on Monday, and I want to see it at least one more time, hopefully before the new year.

Estimates had dropped back down to 220ish this afternoon, now back up around 240m due to a stronger Sat hold!

I saw all the prequels twice, so I'll have to see this one at least three times out of principle. My wife actually wants to see it again, and now wants to re-watch the originals, which is mind blowing for me. She watched the originals when we first started dating (2001) but only really liked Jedi. I'll be curious to see what she thinks of them after all these years.

Although there really should be an asterisk next to that record because of the Thursday screenings. Even assuming some of those preview screenings were after midnight and could technically count towards Friday's numbers, I'm guessing most of the $57 million came between 7 and midnight, which would easily put the film under Jurassic World's one day and weekend records.

That is a lot of sold out shows. I expect this is on 4000-4500 screens. At some point, you can't sell any more tickets.
When I worked at a theater, shows would be sold out Friday evening without much problem. Maybe the late night shows would be 80% capacity. And then on-and-off on Saturday and Sunday. At $250M, they must have sold out just about every showing on every screen.

It's been a warmer than normal December and that has had to have helped. Not sure about other places but it was 20° warmer than it should be. And no snow in sight.

Amazing numbers, especially considering little to no marketing for this movie. It was a tough sell, but apparently word of mouth pushed it over the top.
