Anyone else watch this documentary about the infamous 1968 convention debates between Gore Vidal and Bill Buckley Jr.? I was very entertained seeing these two effete, mannered wordsmiths insult each other with purple prose, saying very little of substance.
Despite their linguistic affectations, I must say I have a certain amount of affection for both of these guys, much more so for Vidal because I share his politics. I love when Vidal says, with exquisite dismissiveness, to Buckley, "Shut up a minute" (it's in the trailer). And of course there's the well-known moment when they almost came to blows, a moment of loss-of-control that Buckley regretted for the rest of his life.

I didn't want to post this in Political Movies, where threads go to become endangered, if not extinct.
