Any other movie and people would be bitching and moaning about something like this being a gimmick. Have the "better than The Bridge Over The River Kwai, Apocalypse Now, Full Metal Jacket and Platoon" reviews started rolling out yet?

It is a gimmick, I don't think anyone bitches about stuff like that normally though.

You're not trying hard enough. I think you can do better.

He's trying too hard. They're having mobile showings of a trailer? Boo hoo, find something to remove the sand from your vajazzle and bitch about the One Direction guy or something.

really surprised at the runtime (106min). Usually Nolan's newer movies are grand in scope and time. this seemed ripe for over 2 at minimum, more like 2.5. i guess we'll see. really love a good war movie. Hacksaw Ridge i thought was fantastic.

I might have to opt for Drafthouse too. I would like to check it out in 70mm but AMC Town Center is a tad further than I'd like to go. Since I live north of the river, I stick the Plaza and theaters northwards.

I checked the AMC website for ticket prices, and the 70mm showing cost the same as the 35mm showing at the Alamo, I might have to go to Town Center after all to see it.

I was checking last Friday and it looked like the 70mm was cheaper. I was looking at the earliest show times. Maybe I was misreading but AMC was $5.99 and Alamo was like $10. This was for the 24th. And I usually spend $20 for food/drink at Alamo. So I might opt for AMC.

Wow, some of the blurbs are calling it the best of the year or the best Nolan has ever done. Getting hyped.

Well it doesn't look like it's going to happen. It starts in an hour and I'm still sitting at the dentist :(

Oh well, the wife's bday is in a few weeks. Maybe we can go then.

If you follow Stuckmann, you know he's a big fan of Nolan. He's given several of his films his highest rating of A+. He gave Dunkirk an A. He said the movie focuses on just the battle without a lot of character development. He touched on the short runtime, saying it was perfect.

He recommended seeing the movie on the biggest screen you can.
