Oh thank God, I read that thread title as "Megan Fox: The Movie"!

Scott Adkins for this since it seems to fit his level of acting and everyone here has a hard-on for him. Maybe him along with Michael Jai White. No reason to add him in, but then again, making this into a live action movie doesn't make sense either.

It makes about as much sense as adapting a comic book for a movie that everybody's going to bitch about.

I like the games but I'm not sure about a live action film. Mega Man seems like it'd work better as a TV series since he always fights against numerous villains in different stages in each game. It probably would be better if done in animated form too (either CG or traditional animation).

So did I because I only briefly glance at titles sometimes. I saw "Mega Man" as Megan and then saw Fox on the end and thought it said Megan Fox: The Movie
Then after I read it again more carefully, the second thing I thought of was the old meme about a Mega Man movie starring Vin Diesel.

I forgot about that series until I saw your post. Either way I still don't think Mega Man is the kind of character that lends itself well to being done as a film though. Unless the film had one or two robot masters only that it focused on and maybe Dr. Wily as the main villain.

I am a huge Mega Man fan, but I'm pretty sure this is gonna be a disaster of Biblical proportions. Like, dogs and cats living together level.

I remember when it was kind of big deal that someone did that. I couldn't make it past 10 minutes. And I was struggling like crazy to tolerate how bad it was.

A CG Mega Man on the other hand would/could rock.

But still can't be worse than Super Mario Bros.

I really liked Megaman Legends. It had some control format issues but i really enjoyed that world. MML3 was something I was looking forward too. They just needed to really fix the whole aiming thing. It improved in MML2 but we were in a time w/ that game where the aiming shouldn't have been an issue.

'Catfish' Helmers in Talks to Direct 'Mega Man' Movie (Exclusive)
Masi Oka and Chernin Entertainment are producing Fox's adaptation of the Capcom video game.
Video game Mega Man is heading to the big screen with Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman, the filmmakers behind the documentary Catfish, in final negotiations to write and direct.
Chernin Entertainment is producing the project with Heroes actor Masi Oka. Twentieth Century Fox worked for over two years to acquire the rights and finally closed a deal earlier this year.
The video game, first released in 1987 by Capcom, centers on a robotic lab assistant created by a scientist named Dr. Light. Light is betrayed by a colleague, the disgruntled Dr. Wily, who reprograms a line of robots in order to take over the world. The lab assistant, nicknamed Rock, then upgrades himself into combat mode in order to save mankind.
Mega Man’s popularity led to comics and manga adaptations on both sides of the Pacific, cartoons and even appearances in other video games. Over 50 games on multiple systems have sold more than 30 million copies worldwide.
Joost and Schulman made a splash with their debut, Catfish, the 2010 controversial documentary about online relationships. The filmmaker team catapulted into narratives when they were hired to direct found-footage horror movie Paranormal Activity 3, and followed that up with Paranormal Activity 4.
The duo last directed Nerve, the 2016 thriller starring Emma Roberts and James Franco that also dealt with the online world.
Joost and Shulman are repped by CAA and Lichter Grossman.

Ugh I thought this had died. No interest in a film at all. The only thing that could be interesting is if this sparked Capcom to do a new game. It's been quite a while since the last entry.

A live-action adaptation of Capcom's Mega Man video games was announced back in 2018, but news on the project has been mostly slim over the last few years. However, the project is still in the works and seems to be headed to Netflix. Production company Supermarche's website states that founders Henry Joost and Rel Schulman, alongside in-house producer Orlee-Rose Strauss, are working on "an adaptation of Capcom's MEGA MAN for Chernin Entertainment and Netflix, which they wrote and are directing." Netflix has made no official announcement, as of this writing.

I still think this would work better as a series instead of a movie. A Netflix series similar to the Castlevania series would make sense to me.
