My preferred search engine is Alta Vista, that said I did not use it for this question. Mrs Miniver is an all time favorite of mine and I knew their was a radio adaptation the same year months after it's releases and also it's mentioned frequently it was a huge summer hit the year it came out.

I never pay attention to the Oscars, so I had no idea what movies won an Oscar. I just took a wild guess and hoped I was right, but I apparently wasn't.

I'm not good on Oscars history either, though I do remember a lot of Best Picture winners, but I don't recall release dates other than obvious summer popcorn flicks, so I just guessed as well, wrongly.

I'm a huge Oscar buff. I actually watched Chariots of Fire in the Summer of 1981 in London. I almost answered that, but I wasn't sure if it came to the U.S. in the same time frame. Was also tempted to guess Annie Hall, but wasn't sure if that was a Spring or Summer 1977 film. Woody puts his movies out every Summer now, but I think they used to release every Spring.
I could only think of Braveheart, Unforgiven, Gladiator and Forrest Gump as possibilities. I had forgotten about when Hurt Locker was released. Mrs Miniver (ahem) wasn't one of my favorite films. Were there other possible correct answers.

Is the negative correct?
No, they should be +5s. Good looking out.

Just checking Google, Crash came out in May 2005. I had no idea it came out that early in the year. Everyone knows it won the Oscar and nobody picked it! :hairpull:

Did anybody go see it in a first-run theater? I sure as Hell didn't.

And while we're on the subject : Even Paul Haggis Didn't Think Crash Deserved To Win

20 point swing for the slam made it a good play. As for the others using their slam on this question ... not so much (Super X and Orangecrush have little luck on the reverse slams  )

Right, to get 20 extra points on a regular slam you'd have to match 19 other people.

True, I'd have been better off using them all on sheep questions and just taking my chances on the reverse sheep. Thankfully, I haven't taken too bad a hit overall despite that.
