I again don’t even know who that is. Part of me prefers that though as that way I don’t have a bias for or against him.

What a surprise.

Has a better look for The Riddler than Hill:

Looper, There Will Be Blood, Little Miss Sunshine, Fast Food Nation... the guy has been amazing in so many quality films. Check 'em out.

Not sure what that’s supposed to mean. I didn’t knock the guy I legitimately haven’t heard of him. Have not seen There Will Be Blood.

Never dug Dano, but I won't knock this bit of casting. Could be interesting. And I'm very curious to see a Riddler in a non-cheesy version, more than the Joker at this point.

Really? Nolan didn’t have an outline for his trilogy?

I think on one of the docs, Nolan stated he originally conceived Batman Begins to be a one and done movie.

He looks like a good choice for The Riddler, but I really wish we were getting villains that haven’t been used in movies before. Maybe Clayface and/or Mad Hatter. If this becomes a trilogy I wouldn’t mind seeing Jason Todd as Robin, with his death in the 2nd movie. They could then hold Clayface til the 3rd and use the comic plot where he morphed into Todd to torment Bruce, and then the back half could bring him back in for real as Red Hood. He could return to Gotham after hearing reports of being impersonated, or something along those lines.

I’m hoping these major villains don’t actually play a big role. If the rumor of this movie being more like a detective story is true, these villains could just be small scenes during an investigation. A Gotham that already has them all established with Batman chasing down leads.

I picture him getting his ass kicked by Bats wouldn't be terrifically different from TWBB: https://youtu.be/ugTbwvVuLKA?t=40

My one thing about all the villains in this movie is that while it’s kinda cool I hope that they aren’t ruled out of sequels for already having appeared. Especially if they’re in Arkham or whatever already. If they’re not in Arkham and just on the streets it’ll be a bit weird too as then Batman should be taking care of them.

it almost feels too ambitious for a first film. Like part of me thinks it would be better if some of these villains were already taken care of in previous films.

Yeah, this is my worry as well. If we've learned anything from past Batman movies (and superhero films in general), is that you CAN have too many villains.

But who knows...maybe it's going to be like THE LONG HALLOWEEN, where - as you say - the villains are part of the investigation and only have one or two scenes each.

I think this is exactly what it will be.

(And yes, I know I already posted this, but worth remembering)

With Serkis directing Venom 2, wasn't sure he'd be able to play Alfred. Hopefully it works out.

I like Colin Farrell but I wouldn’t exactly picture him as The Penguin. I wouldn’t oppose the casting if that’s who they go with though. Serkis could be a good Alfred.

I like those 2 castings. BTW, when they say they are "In talks" it essentially means it's a done deal. They just have to finalize money and getting their availability organized.

Serkis probably has to work around his Venom 2 shooting schedule.

Serkis seems like an odd choice for Alfred...he's only 5'8" - would that make him the shortest Alfred ever?
