I guess you have to take anything on the internet with a grain of salt, but here is conflicting speculation about the first Solo Trailer

https://screenrant.com/han-solo-movie-trailer-release/

After my disappointment with TLJ and the ST so far (I liked Rogue One), I'm actually more interested in the Standalone movies at this point.

We might be the only two people who feel this way. R1 was superior to both and, IMO, it's not even close. That said, I have a ton of reservation about this Solo film.

I can't imagine that Solo could be much worse than The Last Jedi.

I thought Rogue One was dreadful, but at least it has built in leads and characters that I already care about

Although between Forest Whitaker and Benecio Del Toro's characters in Rogue One and TLJ respectively, i hope a trent of absolutely terrible overacted characters don't continue.

We all gonna watch this movie on the theater. As much as you all bitch about every new Star Wars release, Disney has our balls in their hands and they will keep making us buy their shit. So might as well enjoy getting fucked over and over

Remember when there was no new Star Wars movies to complain about? Yeah those days sucked.

Disney keeps making them, I will keep watching.

Disney should tack the trailer onto TLJ once the box office slows down. Easy way to get a few more ticket sales.

An even easier way would've been making it an exclusive attached to TLJ before debuting it online later.

That kinda gives me good hopes for Solo, although now I'm seeing that they're going back for more re-shoots. Is this going to be pushed back to December?

when the most memorable characters in your film are the secondary players (ex: Chirrut and K-2SO) there is a big problem with your movie

Rumors of more reshoots at end of January. Sheesh. This really is a mess, isn't it? http://www.darkhorizons.com/more-sol...ts-on-the-way/

Pickups after principle photography and partway through the edit isn't anything out of the ordinary. The Force Awakens had pickups three weeks before it opened.

The difference with this is that Ron Howard came in near the end of principle photography and ended up reshooting some previous shot stuff. So that site is characterizing these pickups as "reshoots of a reshoot," but there was no way Ron Howard was going to get everything he needed in his initial shoot.

In other words, this isn't news.

I'd argue R1 was not a character-driven movie. Yes, you obviously need protagonists with whom you can feel some kind of emotional stake, but R1 was more of a war/mission-driven piece. A "Dirty Dozen"/"Von Ryan's Express" deal.

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018, D: Miller/Lord and Ron Howard)

In a new Disney press kit detailing the studio’s 2018 releases, Solo’s plot description is sparse, yet still revealing more information than had previously been released:

“Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and encounters the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes.”

Still no trailer... or teaser trailer for that matter. I find that very, very odd on the heels of how polarizing TLJ is.

I think it's totally reasonable to expect the trailer around the time Black Panther comes out. People need to calm the fuck down about TLJ already.

Could it still be pushed to December? I would think so.

Not likely at this point, with all the merchandising and stuff that they have to sync up. If they were going to push it back, they'd have announced it back in the Summer after Ron Howard took over.

At this point, it's like Justice League where, ready or not, it's coming out on that announced release date.

TLJ is only "polarizing" to a small number of internet people. Critically acclaimed and a box office hit - no one at Disney is worried about it.

I expect a teaser within a month or so and a trailer soon after.

how arrogant. the hatred is much more than just a small number of internet fanboys.

of course TLJ made money, because it was coming off the heels of TFA which was universally liked (despite the complaint of being derivative). The tell will be how ep9 does for the proof (or not) that TLJ failed the franchise.

Yeah, I am still confused why Disney didn't push the release to December, they had a perfectly good reason to after Ron Howard took over. I liked the yearly tradition of releasing a Star Wars movie every December.

It is much more polarizing than you are apparently willing to admit. Out of over 175,000 RT audience ratings, it has an average score of 3 out of 5. Star Wars deserves better than that.

Yeah, about RT’s audience score for TLJ...
