The film follows Reid, who has always been obsessed with UFOs. While on a weekend trip to Vegas, he convinces two friends to join him on a mission to break into Area 51, where they find terrifying proof of alien presence.
AREA 51 has been in production for years with reshoots stretching back to 2013.

Sick of found footage but I did want to see this... when it was announced in 2008. Might check out the VOD release. I do like the premise.

Wasn't this ground already covered in INDEPENDENCE DAY (1996)? If it's supposed to be found footage, just take the scenes from that movie and make a new movie around them. Or take pieces from the thousands of hours of video footage shot by UFO buffs around and near the actual Area 51 over the last 20 years or so. Why go to all the trouble of shooting "new" found footage?
