2 Fast 2 Furious was my favorite entry in the series until Fast Five rolled along.

Have you even seen this movie? Or are you waiting to see it 6 months from now like Fast and Furious 6?

re: Furious 7 (Fast & Furious) (Wan, 2015) — The Reviews Thread

Unlike Supermallet, I did not loathe the film, and it is not the type of film I would pick apart anyway...it is a rollercoaster ride that I enjoyed, but yeah, it falls apart if you think too hard about what you are seeing on the screen. It felt like a good film to end the series, but Universal will only pass on the option to make another film if you pry that option from their cold dead fingers.

I felt that the film was one action set piece after another, so it was nice and touching at the end when the film slowed down to catch its breath.

Waiting 'til the BD is released. Same as I did with Furious 6.

2 Fast is objectively the worst F&F movie, but it's so totally silly that it ends up being a ton of fun. It helps that it doesn't take itself seriously in any way, shape, or form, and Paul Walker is so super goofy. It's a totally meaningless, pointless, dumb movie and I love every minute of it.

Furious 7 is a dour movie that doesn't have an ounce of fun in it.

Wow, you and I are on the same page. That means I'll likely be disappointed with F7 as well.

re: Furious 7 (Fast & Furious) (Wan, 2015) — The Reviews Thread

I've rewatched bits of 2 Fast on TV before Furious 7 came out and I mostly find the characters in the movie too obnoxious to have much fun with it, especially since it doesn't have the stunts to make up for it like 5-6-7 do. I don't disagree with Furious 7 being dour as far as it's story and characters go this time around, but despite my complaints about the action getting too nuts I still had a lot of fun with them.

That's why I keep going back to Fast Five as my favorite, as it had the best combination of characters (including guys like Roman being turned down a notch from 2 Fast), as well as it ending on a happy note for everyone.

But now that you mention it...what if the next movie had the gang transporting nitro glycerin and made them all drive at 10 mph the entire time.

Same. I'll still get the BD, but I don't see this one having as much replay value as 5 & 6.

Not sure I agree with this description completely, but it is silly and totally fun.

This film is a money making beast...I think it has a shot at out-grossing the original Avengers film, 1.6 billion is not out of reach. It has already cleared 250m in China, and still has 2 weeks free to make bank internationally.

2 Fast 2 Furious was Fast Five, Fast & Furious 6, and Furious 7 before it was cool.

The inherent stupidity of the 2 Fast 2 Furious title is really hard to get past .

The Fast and the Furious 2?
The Faster and the Furiouser?

Bah. The stupidity in that title is just one of the many reasons the film is so goddamned ahead of its time.

2 Fast 2 Furious is hilarious, never quite sure if intentional in the "so bad it's good" way or not, so I give it that.

The stupidity in the title is completely accurate to the movie itself though.

Not even the flying car sequence? (Either of them)

re: Furious 7 (Fast & Furious) (Wan, 2015) — The Reviews Thread

Saw it Friday, it was fun and relatively enjoyable. Definitely liked 5 & 6 better.

The end of this one was very good regardless of Paul Walker's death. They definitely could have ended there but because it is a massive cash cow it won't. I would prefer they drop the F&F name though since this really is no longer about cars or street racing but action. I don't mind either way but F&F should have much more of the street racing element these films no longer do.

And nice job giving Paul Walker a good send off. Of course he never won a legit race against Diesel.

I think i've decided to put 7 ahead of 6; really dig the "See You Again" song at the end.

It amuses me that Wiz Khalifa gets credit for the song but he's seriously terrible in it. Even by rap standards, the dudes voice is just flat.
