I've never heard H-20 either but I guess it makes sense since it came out 20 years later.

It's kind of a silly title now that I think about it.

I never watched H2O.
Is the twist that Michael Meyers’ weakness is water?

H20 is a favorite of mine. I watch it probably 4-5 each year.
And now I kinda wish that was the deal. All that terror just to find out dude can't swim and is horrifically scared of water.

They did that in Jason vs. Freddy.

Yeah but the whole Jason not liking water thing wasn't really new or a surprise. Would have come out of left field in a Halloween movie.

Holy shit, only a $10 million budget? This movie is going to make some people some serious bank.

For sure. This will beat its budget opening night, IMO. No brainer with JLC attached.

I like that they are ignoring the sequels. None of them did any justice to the original, especially Halloween 4 which stole the Friday the 13th formula by making Myers into some Terminator like figure who can stick his thumb through people's skulls.
Yeah, the trailer is flawed, and the movie may suck, but I have no issue with it ignoring all the bad sequels that followed the original.
Also glad Castle is returning, as he was the only good actor, IMO, to play Myers. Even if he only plays him for a few scenes (I don't know how true this is though).

I have Halloween 1 & 2, I feel like they're 2 halves of a whole movie. And 3 is so different I bought the Collector's Edition BD just because. I had the 4 & 5 double feature but sold it because I feel like anything after 1 & 2 is just milking the Myers thing a bit too much. I'm happy with what I have, I never bought into the remake, and I really don't need another Halloween movie, no matter the choices being made about the storyline.

H2O was a great sequel.
unfortunately the one after that was terrible. resurrection was sooooo bad.

The fourth is enjoyable if you ask me. It has some of the strongest female characters in Rachel and Jamie and has a decent story (by slasher standards). The biggest issue with it is the way Michael looks. His mask is weird in that one and I don’t like the more built Michael. While the first is more classic the fourth is the most rewatchable to me. I can pop it in if I just want to enjoy a slasher. The third is the next one I watch the most. I have to be in the right mood to watch the original.

I guess I didn’t realize before this thread that so many view the movies as that complicated. I mean there’s not really a lot to figure out in terms of what’s happening. The main one I can see throwing people off is the third. Everything else is pretty standard horror franchise fare where continuity isn’t always exactly the greatest.

I don't count Rod Zombie's versions as being anything associated with the first series.
I would like too see a follow up to Halloween 3,however it stands alone as a classic horror movie no matter what the critics say.

Yeah, I dunno. That's not where my mind went, I think it looks cool. It reminds me of the chaotic artwork in those Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark books from the 90s.

Probably, I love this franchise and I'm a fan of the talent involved. I'm good at managing my expectations and keeping an open mind when filmmakers take things in a new direction. It's my most anticipated film of the year but not in a way where I'll be disappointed if I'm not blown away.
