So you can rule out the following

Eva Longoria
Catherine Bell
Mischa Barton
SMG
Monica Bellucci
Evangeline Lilly (while hot, doesn't have her bust or an open schedule to shoot)
Jessica Biel
Taylor Cole
Morena Baccarin
Sure he wasn't just talking about the cover girls?

Well he told me when I asked him about it that he saw the magazine on the wednesday before when it was released and never got any phone call about the article or anything like that. Add to that the "but you're all very nice" comment was made when he flipped through the section again shaking his head.

So I would say he was refering to everyone that wizard pointed out.

I hadn't even thought about Catherine Bell...except for the fact that she may be too old to build a franchise around, she would('ve?)' be a solid choice.

I'm sure Whedon will get some say, but I don't think Silver's the kind of guy to defer to someone else if he sees something a certain way, so it could very well be someone that Whedon has nixed publically.

All the picks so far have been lame. I can't remember if I said it in here or not but the best choice for a really awesome, different, fun and funny Wonder Woman is Lauren Graham.

Not enough in the physicality department, but 5 years ago, she'd been a cool Lois Lane, though.

ha! Not at all. If they had vision and didn't go the same route as every other cookie-cutter superhero movie being made now, they could really make something unique and fun with Graham. And when they announced this project a while back they said that one of the directions they might go would be to do a slightly older WW with Kim Basinger. Well! She's no fun and she has no fans. They might as well go with Graham in that case! It would be awesome.

I'm sure to the studios. But she's a perfect choice.

exactly. the studios may want to appeal to a younger demo, but really... even if she's older, who wont think she's hot in WW's outfit?

I love that I posted LG in this thread back in May and now all the closet fans are coming out of the woodwork. Well, considering that that was just dream casting and not based on any actual rumors, prepare to be disapponted.

I see Lauren Graham dispensing one-liners about 80s pop culture, not throwing magic lassos. I still say Catherine Bell.

Catherine Bell is closer to 40 than she is to 30. It'll probably never happen.

The same holds true for Lauren Graham.

I believe that the role of Wonder Woman has to go to an "older" actress for this role. They can't make the mistake of making this character younger like they did with the Invisible Woman role in Fantastic Four.

With the way everything seems to be mass marketed to the "young'uns", I would expect one of the Olsen twins to play Diana.

Other than that, any suggestions other than Monica is just crazytalk.

The day I see a woman look this hot, I'm proposing. I've seen many stunningly beautiful women, but comic book women like that just take hotness to an entirely new level.

As for the film, this will be incredibly difficult to pull off well.

I read in Wizard magazine July 2005 #165 pg. 71 that Whedon isn't going to give her the traditional costume. He said that he's going to take away the "Stars and Stripes", "put more Greek and leather", and no panties. He did say he'll keep the color and basic elements....

Beckinsale wants to play Wonder Woman

27/07/2005 - 11:43:43 British actress Kate Beckinsale wants to play Wonder Woman in the upcoming movie adaptation of the classic 1970s TV series.

British actress Kate Beckinsale wants to play Wonder Woman in the upcoming movie adaptation of the classic 1970s TV series.

The Van Helsing beauty has been practising - she dressed up as the superheroine last year for Hallowe'en - and she hopes Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon will cast her in the prestigious role.

She says: "I dressed up as her last Hallowe'en so it would be good to do it again."

I'm not sure if Beckinsale has the "right" look to play an Amazon princess.
