I guess all of the Disney payoff checks to the critics must have gotten lost in the mail.

Justice League, however, is already completed (mostly). Either the same types of tonal changes were already made to that movie during its production, or else it is now too late to make them. And if JL follows the mold of BvS (likely, given Snyder's direction), then WW will become an outlier, and will only serve to remind us of what might have been.
There is a reason Joss was brought in and why they didn't just let the already involved Ads finish the material as scripted and originally conceived- which is something any of them well could have done and which would have been far more economical for WB.

Just for future reference...(Justice League credits)

You're forgetting the part where almost all of them (the ones I've read at least) always start with something along the lines of "take a breath folks. this one's actually good". Which I find quite funny.

Makes me wonder whether it really is THAT good or were the 3 films preceding it just that terrible in comparison.

Thursday can't come soon enough.

I'm not forgetting it. That was rotten tomato's consensus, though I suppose they could've added, "and was far better than the previous three movies. WINNING!"

Also, up to 61-2, 97%, 7.7/10

T-Mobile subscribers can get a ticket to Wonder Woman for $4 via the T-Mobile Tuesdays app.

The app gives you a promo code to apply to a ticket bought through the Atom Tickets app. It discounts the ticket price so the final price, fees included, is $4.

Promo code is good from 5/30 through 6/5. Not sure if the ticket you buy has to be before 6/5; I used mine on a ticket for Sunday 6/4.

A studio isn't going to hand off a multi-million dollar franchise picture to an AD, no matter how talented they are. It's not just the filming of pickups, it's the control over the editing process. They also want a "name" to give publicly to assure people the film is in good hands, and an AD nobody has heard of before doesn't do that.

I mean, Robert Altman had to hire Paul Thomas Anderson as a "backup" director for A Prairie Home Companion to get insurance for that film. PTA just ended up shadowing Altman for the entire film:

I am thinking that with the already high interest in this movie, coupled with truly exceptional reviews and a pretty crappy summer movie lineup so far that this movie is really poised to greatly overachieve at the BO. Going Friday to see it in 70mm

I know still early, but do you think this will best The Dark Knight as highest DCEU rating in RT, which I believe is 94%?

Has a chance. Just watched two reviews who gave it "good not great" ratings.

Apparently there are more screenings either today or tomorrow (in LA I believe). It's at 97% now and obv there will be more rotten reviews, but it has a chance to stay above 90%. Now, what you do want to look at is the average rating which is 7.7/10, which is pretty high.

Does that mean all of us will have to change out of our dark costumes?

Definitely not in overall score (8.6 to 7.7 right now), possible in tomato score though I guess. But yeah, not DCEU.

Another good review. Hell, I may have to catch a matinee on it in a few weeks.

Seeing this tonight. I don't think there's any after/end credits sequences at all.

I always hold out for a Nick Fury cameo at the end.

It's been confirmed there is not.
