Composer Pinar Toprak is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Toprak will score Captain Marvel, which stars Brie Larson as the powerful Marvel hero. Captain Marvel is Marvel Studios' first female-fronted film, and Toprak will be the first woman to score a feature for the studio.
"It’s an incredible honor to be a part of the Marvel Universe," Toprak wrote Thursday on Instagram. "So many thoughts racing through my head. And the main one is gratitude."
Toprak's other work includes Syfy's Superman prequel Krypton as well as the videogame Fortnite.
Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck are directing Captain Marvel, which also stars Jude Law, Ben Mendelsohn, Gemma Chan and Annette Bening. Djimon Hounsou and Lee Pace reprise their roles from Guardians of the Galaxy, while Clark Gregg (as Agent Coulson) and Samuel L. Jackson (as Nick Fury) play younger versions of their MCU characters in the 1990s-set film. Captain Marvel got a boost in anticipation thanks to an Avengers: Infinity War post-credits scene which teased the character as the Marvel Universe's only hope.
Captain Marvel is set to open March 8, 2019.

Saw a bunch of what I consider Skrulls today and Korath. Was there a part for Frank Langella anywhere? He showed up on set last night.

Unfortunately, no teaser in front of Ant-Man and the Wasp. Kind of weird to see a new Marvel movie and not have something for the next one. Too bad they couldn’t put something together even if it was just dialogue over a logo.

Then you didn't see it opening week. The Ant-Man trailer wasn't released until a week after IW opened.

Ok, I'm confused then. It must have been the second trailer that came out a week after IW, because I remember seeing it and wondering why it wasn't released in time to put it in front of Avengers. I'm pretty sure I posted about it in the AM&W thread.

We had the BP teaser when Homecoming came out this time last year. Just odd. I guess they want to be radio silent for a bit.

Venom isn't a real Marvel movie, it's Sony and not part of the MCU, so it won't be attached. And when I say attached, I mean it won't be distributed with the movie and run in front of every screening. That only happens with movies from the same studio. It might still run in front of it in many theaters, but that won't be where Disney releases it. It's also R-Rated, so not the best film to hit the target audience.

SDCC isn't what it used to be. I used to camp out inside Hall H all day. I just looked at the Saturday schedule and it's not very thrilling.

Principal photography is officially a wrap.
Now comes months of post production work, especially the de-aging of Fury and Coulson. I read that they will be de-aged in every scene for entire movie. That’s going to be a lot of work.
And I have to assume they are going to put some kind of bonus scene/flash forward at the end that ties in Captain Marvel to Avengers 4 since it was teased in the last movie.

They will be de-aged in every scene they appear in, but I doubt that either of them will be in even half of the movie.
