This.

I remember seeing a TimesTalks episode with Bryan Cranston and the cast and creators of "Breaking Bad" and Cranston was dressed in a jacket and tie and was so smooth and articulate and fun to watch and listen to that I imagined him cast in other roles I thought he'd be good in, e.g. Don Draper on "Mad Men."

So often, the stars of movies and shows don't even bother to dress properly or even get a good night's sleep before doing these longform interviews. I remember seeing Aidan Quinn with a panel of actors (including Glenn Close and Marlo Thomas) on an episode of American Theatre Wing sometime in 1986 and he looked and sounded like he was hung over and hadn't slept, and he kept rubbing his face and hair and neck and he looked soooo uncomfortable, yet they kept turning to him to ask him questions!!!

I would do terrible things to her. And then I'd surrender myself to police.

It would be funny if every answer from DeNiro in an interview would be, "You talkin to me?"

Harvey Keitel is completely incoherent in any interview I've ever seen him do.

There was a great one on the Mike Douglas show where the second guy was some old guy claiming to have slept with Marilyn Monroe and Reed got completely belligerent and angry at the guy.

Not an actor, but I've ways been amazed that Todd McFarlane is so rich, but his interviews are disjointed and rambling that I'm amazed he knows his way around money.

5-8 minutes is long form? I'd hate to see a short interview.

Yeah, it's widely known that the booze flows freely in those green rooms to loosen up the stars.

I was referring to TimesTalks and American Theatre Wing, which are both 90-minute sessions. But it's true, many celebs don't dress properly or get enough sleep even for short interview segments.

That's awesome. They're just winding him up. A decade later, John Lydon was sitting in the host's chair himself.
