I watched it.

Was a bit slap stickish.
Sandler does another terrible goofy voice.
You can see the plot turn from a mile away.
Had a handful of laughs.

Kids will probably like it.
One silhouette of a gross act.

1.5/5 stars.

Just a quick blurb, but apparently Ridiculous 6 was a decent success.

In their first Q&A session since launching a (nearly) global internet TV network, Netflix CEO Reed Hastings and content head Ted Sarandos sounded appropriately pleased with themselves. Sarandos said the recent debut of Adam Sandler's Ridiculous 6 made it the "most watched movie in Netflix's history" over the first 30 days. Previously he'd said Beasts of No Nation the service's most watched movie in its first week of release, and that it had over 3 million views in North America after two weekends, but did not provide any numbers for Sandler's movie.

That's sad.

Great for Netflix in making bank... i guess they make money from this? I dunno how Netflix works w/ this exclusive stuff. Sad for us.

It's great pub for them, but I don't know that it generates them any additional income unless the Sandler deal drove people to subscribe.

Which is where I THINK that's how they think it'll help them. I guess to Netflix... stuff like this add a necessary value to where the customer will subscribe to them due to the variety offered. I dunno. I have Netflix cuz my sister's account is on my PS3 but I would never pay for it. So.... yay me for having my sis put her account on my PS3.

Yea it is weird how many people can use 1 Netflix account that are not in the same household.

So, what is the next turd that Sandler and company will prepare to serve on Netflix? Will it just be another movie that slightly mirrors a major/recent release?

It's weird.

I have a strong dislike for Adam Sandler and I don't know why.

I liked him well enough on SNL, and I don't think I've watched actually watched an Adam Sandler movie. But I don't like the guy. Don't know if it's because his movies look stupid, or if the internet hate is rubbing off on me.

I never found Adam Sandler funny. I never laughed at his movies, or jokes on SNL.
I liked Ridiculous 6. It felt like a movie Mel Brooks could have written.

Yeah... Crappy Mel Brooks.

Mel Brooks himself fell off on what was quality for him.

Adam Sandlers Netflix run is the equivalent of a crappy band that had a few hits 20 years ago, that gradually loses its viability as a touring act, so they turn to playing the casino circuit because the casino's will pay more money thinking it'll get more people in the door to spend money on the slots and blackjack.

Since that looks to be rated R, I am somewhat interested.

Also: I think I'm the only one on here looking forward to seeing this. And the only one on here who wouldn't automatically trash it.

1. You're not the only one looking forward to it.

2. I will give it a chance like I did Ridiculous 6. Last movie of his I really liked was The Wedding Singer. Potential is there so I keep hoping.

I just checked IMDB and The Wedding Singer was 18 years and 40 movies ago.

Yep.

Few years ago had some time to burn so Grown Ups 2 was getting ready to start and jumped in there. Not a chuckle. The whole movie.

re: The Adam Sandler / Happy Madison / Netflix Thread

the only time I watch Adam Sandler in a movie is when its not an Adam Sandler movie.

He was pretty good in Men, Women and Children and so was the movie.

re: The Adam Sandler / Happy Madison / Netflix Thread

I was a big Sandler fan once upon a time. I haven't had the desire to see one of his films in the theater in over 10 years. (Not counting Hotel Transylvania, which my kids wanted to see, the last one I saw was probably 50 First Dates).
