Re: How many of the last 50 "comic book / graphic novel" adaptations have you seen?
I checked off 6-10 without realizing there was an actual list we could consult. I actually saw 11 of the last 50 and 29 total from the full list of 100. Which means I see fewer of them with every passing decade.
My favorite remains PUNISHER WAR ZONE, which I saw not long before joining this forum.

If the upswing in comic book properties in recent years wasn't already apparent enough, it's interesting to note that the most recent 50 span only 6 years, while the previous 50 span 13.

About 10 of first 50 and 10 of second 50 but some were just partials.

17/50 and 32/100. It would be a few more if the list went all the way back to the Christopher Reeve Superman movies.
Until I saw that list I didn't realize that some of those titles came from comic books, because I haven't read any since the '60s, and not many then.

And I've had a LOT of chances to see others.

Hollywood loves optioning independent comic book properties since they are so cheap to acquire. It is much more expensive to license an actual book or novel.

Edge of Tomorrow should have been on that list since it is the latest 50. It was based on a Japanese Manga. Also, The Green Hornet shouldn't be on that list since it started off as a radio program and not a comic book.

You can blame Box Office Mojo, as the list is based on their classifications. If you go to the site, I think there's a link to email them if you think there's a mistake.

There's a lot of terrible movies on that list. Then again I've only seen 13 of them and some of those were pretty good.

So.. Fox put in an offer for WB for $80 billion (which WB rejected). But if it went thru, could we see this?
