A sequel to "Blow" could be happening

Prepare for more tales of cocaine pure as the driven snow -- George Jung penned a sequel to "Blow" during his almost 20-year prison stint ... and his people say Hollywood's already knocking.

The classic film starring Johnny Depp was inspired by Bruce Porter's 1993 book about Jung's life ... but we're told that was only a fraction of Boston George's cocaine adventures.

A rep for Jung says his new book, entitled "Heavy" ... will detail more of George's drug smuggling missions in the 80s and feature some of the same "Blow" characters.

Not surprisingly, we're told a movie production company's already interested in the book ... which comes out next month.

I'd be down. I love the first movie.

*yawn* I didn't think the first movie was very good. I know it has a cult following, but Jung is such a boring guy in that movie.

This is teh start of a fantastic idea!!!!!1

However, I would rather see the new adventures filmed and inserted into the original movie.

Think of all the things we can do with cgi now...

Yeah I *totally* believed that he was only going to do ONE MORE SCORE and then he was going to leave the life forever for the good of his daughter. Yup. Didn't we all feel so sorry for him, what with the big freeze-frame shot of his bloated mug at the end?

Hated that movie with a passion reserved for fruit-based pie or Pol Pot. Fuck this guy.

As long as we don't have Penelope Cruz back for it. She was awful in that. Bring back Paul Reubens, though!

I got to the part where it said "classic film" and shit myself. From laughing so hard. Laughed so hard I shit my pants. Because it's not a classic film at all.

So, Blow basically tried to ape Goodfellas' style so which Martin Scorsese movie does Blow 2 try to mimic? Hugo?

The original had it's flaws. But the aesthetic is very fun to watch. When you have Black Betty playing, while Jung is smuggling coke through the airport - that's a really good feeling. Or the Rolling Stones opening. So awesome.

It's not a classic, but it's enjoyable and I think the cinematography is very well done.

Now that I think about... any fond feelings I have thinking back are all around the musical cues!

I hear they're going for an "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore" vibe.

With a little "Kundun" mixed in.

A masterpiece awaits us.

A "mastur"-piece.

So now everyone hates Blow? Thought it had a decent enough rep.

Decent enough rep? A Ted Demme flick? Rarely the two shall meet, certainly not with that POS.

Re: A sequel to "Blow" could be happening

I got curious and checked Rotten Tomatoes. 55%.

No great shakes but nothing terrible either. People in this topic are making it sound like an M. Night movie or something.

As long as the director returns, I'm in!

That's possible, right?
