Pretty much this. If it lasts longer than a hour it is most likely true.

The run time for The Blind Side is 129 minutes, which makes it doubly true!

Well, I think the OP's quote about her is semi-accurate...Bullock was concerned about being able to pull off a devout Christian because she doesn't have that mindset about spirituality. Nothing wrong with that...actors worry about performances all the time. She probably was wondering if it was essential to the story, and I'm not sure it was - in fact, I don't remember that movie being overtly religious in any particular way. At least not beyond the typical Hollywood version of "Christianity".

So THAT'S how they made the movie!

You haven't met many actors, have you? Most of them don't like to go outside their comfort zone. They're too afraid of coming off poorly.

Far be it from me to defend the OP, but here's a source for his story (well, not that she was forced, but that she was wary about playing a devout Christian, until she found out about the person she was playing):

That article does not suggest that Bullock tried to have the Christianity removed, or that the real life woman wouldn't allow them to make the movie without the Christian elements intact.

No, but if you combine that with the fact that Bullock turned down the role three times (because she wasn't sure she could do the character justice), it does tell you where the OP's misinterpretation of the events came from.

]Bullock initially turned down the starring role three times due to discomfort with portraying a devout Christian. According to Bullock, she felt she couldn't objectively represent such a person's beliefs on screen.
:hscratch: Isn't that why it's called acting? Doesn't she get lots of money to do said acting?

Thanks, but the OP should be providing his own sources.

Sure, get lost in semantics. He posted the unsubstantiated claim that started this discussion. Close enough to OP for me.

Did the original thread have anything to do with The Blind Side or was that a detour?

Is there any truth to the rumor that Mark Wahlberg turned down the role in FEAR multiple times due to his belief that he could not accurately portray a roller-coaster rider?
