^That's kind of my problem. But then again Ares did state that it didn't matter if WW killed him as it is in the nature of humans to destroy one another. I think Diana just felt it best to keep a low profile out of fear that if she did interfere everyone would look to her for help at all times. I think the Luke comparison is pretty fair. She wanted to bring about world peace and discovered it was a lost cause.
I think another factor for her sudden decision to reappear could be attributed to the appearance of Superman and Zod (she had to know about that incident) . Since all threats since WWI were (allegedly) not directly tied to Ares (read a super being) , she figured it was humankind's conflict and they needed to solve it on their own. Once Superman and Zod do battle she realizes that external threats still exist. She decides to gradually filter back into the world. She seems pretty intent on leaving Superman and Batman to fight Doomsday, but realizes that this is an otherworldly threat and just says "fuck it".
That said, I think this movie is going to turn into a case like a band who has a hot lead singer (WW) and a cool drummer (Aquaman) putting out an album. They're a band, but those two get all of the photo ops. Think No Doubt's 1996 album where they were all supposed to be on the cover, but only Gwen Stefani appeared.

Except that Luthor had everyone's info (and logos), all Batman did was retrieve them and act on recruitment?

Remember, it was Rupert Gregson-Williams who scored WW. His brother, Harry, is the more accomplished of the two working on all of Affleck's movies save Argo, several of the Scott Brothers (especially the late Tony Scott) and, at least according to his Wikipedia page, The Batman though that might've been left over when Affleck was attached to direct and hadn't been changed.

I loved Harry Gregson-William's score for Kingdom of Heaven. But that was the first thing I noticed when I saw WW, that it was Rupert. Looked it up after to find it was Harry's brother.
It's interesting seeing these changes being made, but it makes me wonder if they can comfortably make the 11/17 release date. At the rate they're going, I'd be happier if they do it right now that Whedon has taken this over. Also makes me wonder how much more they had to add to the budget.

But Whedon has the experience so the studio did luck out at least getting him to get this over the finish line, and no doubt his reward beyond his payment for the reshoots was getting carte blanche for Batgirl.

Warner needs JL to work so the sky's the limit. We'll never really know what the budget is, but wouldn't surprise me if it reaches $400M (and that's w/o advertising). For comparison, the next two Avengers movies, I think, were $500M/ea. but a fair portion was with the actors' salaries, esp Downey Jr. As far the schedule goes, I assume any post work for the additional stuff will be done as they film.

Maybe Elfman will be good, who knows? But I liked what they had going with Junkie XL.

I can't really remember the last time I enjoyed a Danny Elfman score. I know Whedon is supposed to be picking up where Snyder left without changing the vision for the film, but I can't think of a more efficient way to alter the tone of a film in progress than changing the soundtrack.

Yeah, but if it's one thing these DECU movies need is music that give give it that extra touch. It's been void so far of anything noteworthy. Going back to Marvel (again), while they've had different composers, they've had recurring themes that have an epic feel to it. I know there are some themes in the DECU movies, they're far from epic sounding.

Offhand I can't recall a single Marvel theme whatsoever. And I can basically recall Man of Steel and Wonder Woman cues pretty well.

OTOH, not sure if recent Elfman will deliver anything memorable. We'll see.

Interesting video, i agree Marvel plays it wayy safe with their music. I think i remember Winter Soldier having better cues with regards to music than all the other Marvel films
Currently listening Batman V Superman soundtrack its pretty damn good, but i hear these songs and I picture a serious thriller or drama, yet I don't remember the movie feeling anything like that.
I guess both studios suck, one adds shitty music to their good films. The other one creates great scores for their shitty movies
