Put it this way:I'd reckon the vast majority of Hispanic South Florida families know EXACTLY what happens if your kid gets picked to join Menudo. Its common knowledge now, has been for well over 30 years. Of course it still hasnt stopped greedy parents from dragging their kids to the auditions, blinded by dollar signs and showbiz avarice. |

Still, the initial assault came in California, and apparently the kid goes on two more trips to Hawaii after the fact. Yeah... I don't doubt something shady went on initially (along the lines of sex for fame and stardom), but this seems like a money grab. The time for a money grab would have been back then.
