Not counting revivals and such but I can't remember the last time a current movie had the title card of "The End" at the end. Now it will end with the directors name followed by the credits and such. I guess it's not needed but just another movie tradition I kinda miss.

If I remember correctly, it was some time in the 1970s, a western in which the camera cranes up over the western town as the characters are going about getting back to normal after the bad guy's been subdued or whatever and it said "The End," followed by the cast list. Couldn't tell you which one, though.

Didn't Lord of the Rings: Return of the King end with a "The End" title?
The last movie I saw with one in theaters was Oz: The Great and Powerful.
Though that Tarsem Singh shitfest Mirror Mirror also had one.
