I also do not think i have ever seen all of Planes, Trains, and Automobiles...or at least not in one sitting. My parents wouldn't rent it for me when i was a kid (9 or 10) because my mom heard someone in it said FUCK.
They did however rent me every single Friday the 13th from age 7 on and drop me at the theater with my sister to see Nightmare on Elm Street at age 7 Lethal Weapon at age of 9.

My parents had some weird guidelines about what I could and couldn't watch as a kid. "Halloween" was forbidden until I was a teenager because there were boobs. But "Dawn of the Dead" and "Alien" were perfectly fine.

It is possible that some people don't know the actual character names and so the actor's name was just their best guess. It's equally as possible that some just answered on first instinct and didn't really put much thought into it (or didn't see the sheep master's later comments).
