RIP James Rebhorn
You might not know the name, but you'll recognize the face.
Spoiler:
James Rebhorn was a character actor that will most likely be remembered for either his recent role on television as Frank Mathison in "Homeland" or his many, many film characters from Secretary of Defense Albert Nimziki in Independence Day -- "Excuse me Mr. President, that's not entirely accurate." -- or Dr. Larry "It's only a game Focker!" Banks in Meet the Parents. Either way, James Rebhorn was an actor you didn't forget and today we learn of his passing at the age of 65. |

Rip :(

Re: RIP James Rebhorn
Yep. Didn't know the name, but certainly knew the face.
Excellent actor. RIP. |
Re: RIP James Rebhorn
RIP. He was one of my favorite character actors.
I don't know what was going on with his health, but frankly I'm surprised he was only 65. I thought he was closer to 75 than 65. |
Re: RIP James Rebhorn
He was looking really weathered on Homeland. RIP.
|
Re: RIP James Rebhorn
Enjoyed him in everything, most recently in a recurring role on Homeland. :(
|
Re: RIP James Rebhorn
I wonder if this will effect Homeland, as I assumed Carrie's baby will be taken care of by her sister and father.

Re: RIP James Rebhorn
Damn. R.I.P.

Re: RIP James Rebhorn
Sad to hear. Always liked him in the countless movies he was in. It's always tough when the industry loses these great character actors. They're not necessarily household names but are familiar to many as if they were a marquee name.
:rip: :( |
Re: RIP James Rebhorn
I really took notice of him after The Game. He was so good and had such an important role that it always made me smile when I saw him in something else.

Re: RIP James Rebhorn
He isn't a household name, but has always been a recognizable face.
I watched his most recent work on White Collar and Homeland. Sad to hear of his passing. |
Re: RIP James Rebhorn
Babe was such a surprisingly good movie.

Excellent actor. RIP. Always did good stuff but somehow never knew his name. Last thing I saw of him was the Game. Guy didn't age from what I saw. |
Re: RIP James Rebhorn
First time I really took notice of him was in Meet the Parents. Banks was a complete fucking asshole, and reminded me of a few people that I know... a couple of uncles in particular.

Liked him in "The Game".

Rip.

Re: RIP James Rebhorn
I had not seem him in a while after he was in almost every movie in the 90's.
He did 2 episodes of 30 Rock too. I remember him in Scent of A Woman and the goofy dance near the end of the Game with Michael Douglas. RIP |
Re: RIP James Rebhorn
the dad in BLANK CHECK is the first thing that came to mind...but yea he's been in a lot. :rip:

Re: RIP James Rebhorn
RIP
Wiki says that he's been fighting melanoma for the past 22 years. |

Re: RIP James Rebhorn
I too would have guessed he was on the high side of 75. Always looked older than his real age and of course being sick I'm sure made him age. He was able to raise the level of the supporting role to make it seem like a lead.

Re: RIP James Rebhorn
I knew his name. Whenever I saw him come on screen I knew it would be a pitch perfect performance. I also thought he was a lot older. I'm older than he was and I am now shocked to learn that. So many films and TV shows. He has 125 acting credits on IMDb.
Very sad. |
