RIP James Rebhorn
You might not know the name, but you'll recognize the face.

Spoiler:
James Rebhorn was a character actor that will most likely be remembered for either his recent role on television as Frank Mathison in "Homeland" or his many, many film characters from Secretary of Defense Albert Nimziki in Independence Day -- "Excuse me Mr. President, that's not entirely accurate." -- or Dr. Larry "It's only a game Focker!" Banks in Meet the Parents. Either way, James Rebhorn was an actor you didn't forget and today we learn of his passing at the age of 65.

RIP. He was one of my favorite character actors.
I don't know what was going on with his health, but frankly I'm surprised he was only 65. I thought he was closer to 75 than 65.

Sad to hear. Always liked him in the countless movies he was in. It's always tough when the industry loses these great character actors. They're not necessarily household names but are familiar to many as if they were a marquee name.

I really took notice of him after The Game. He was so good and had such an important role that it always made me smile when I saw him in something else.

He isn't a household name, but has always been a recognizable face.
I watched his most recent work on White Collar and Homeland. Sad to hear of his passing.

First time I really took notice of him was in Meet the Parents. Banks was a complete fucking asshole, and reminded me of a few people that I know... a couple of uncles in particular.

I had not seem him in a while after he was in almost every movie in the 90's.
He did 2 episodes of 30 Rock too.
I remember him in Scent of A Woman and the goofy dance near the end of the Game with Michael Douglas.

I too would have guessed he was on the high side of 75. Always looked older than his real age and of course being sick I'm sure made him age. He was able to raise the level of the supporting role to make it seem like a lead.

No kidding. I thought he was 60+ in Independence Day, but he was only 48 (probably 47 when it was actually filmed) - which is only a few years older than me. He seemed even older when you compare him then to Tom Cruise now (51) and Brad Pitt (50).

I knew his name. Whenever I saw him come on screen I knew it would be a pitch perfect performance. I also thought he was a lot older. I'm older than he was and I am now shocked to learn that. So many films and TV shows. He has 125 acting credits on IMDb.
Very sad.
