Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier (Russo & Russo, 2014) — The Reviews Thread

I thought it was awesome. I liked the pacing and the action was fantastic. A few of the "twists" were fairly predictable (Fury "dying", Redford being a villain), but I did not figure out that Hydra had completely infiltrated SHIELD. That was crazy. As others have said, really looking forward to seeing how that affects Agents Of SHIELD down the road. All in all, I thought it was a great film. Can't wait for GotG and Avengers 2!!!

The poll voting is similar to the high scores for Gravity, except Gravity's majority score was 5-stars. But most scores here are between 4 and 5 stars. That's pretty awesome even for DVDTalk standards

Man...or woman. ScarJo is ridiculously hot to both sexes. You'd have to be blind and deaf, with that voice, not to see it. That line, "I'm 97, not dead" No, Cap you're dead below the waist if you weren't trying to get at her.

I assume that Steve knows that Natasha is in a relationship with Clint, and he's not about to to step out with a friend's dame.

I totally agree..
Spoiler:
There was strong chemistry between the two, I would not be 100% disappointed if they wanted to explore that in Cap 3.

In his defense, he did have a response to the kiss on the escalator.

What? Did I miss something during the coversation in the van?

Spoiler:
ScarJo asked him if that was his first kiss in decades and his response was "I'm 97, I'm not dead." but was there something else because if you're talking about his actual kiss well, I thought it was lame along with Widow.

She stated before the kiss that kissing in public makes people uncomfortable so they usually look away. Brumlow did. She later stated if he, Cap, was awkward about it. Cap stated that awkward was not the word for it. Something along these lines.

Either way. Cap got a stiffy from it.

You know now that I think of it, I can definitely see Steve Rogers as 'leading' the Avengers. I mean in the first Avengers it seemed like a bunch of guys doing their own thing a little bit. But now I can totally see Cap leading the Avengers and it would feel totally believable.

Right, right, I remember now. I stand corrected, Steve Rogers is indeed, not dead.

I really enjoyed the movie. I'm not in the camp of this being Marvel's The Dark Knight, but it was very well done. The action and acting never really faltered. No real surprises, but that didn't matter too much. Looking forward to Avengers 2 next year.

As for Disco, Cap has a shield that's shaped like a disc. I thought the joke was obvious.

Yes. For a long time, he was an untouchable death and one of the few people in comics who stayed dead. Brubaker changed that.

Nit that I want to defend danoolly but that Pisco confused me too until someone here pointed out it is Disco.

Thought the movie was very good.

Saw it on the Dolby Atmos screen.
Sound was great but video was a bad.
Lots of baggies on horizontal lines. I think they paid to wrong file. Looked like interlaced video.

Gave it Is 3.5

Is there a projectionist up there in the digital age, or do they just assume the computer can fix the problems?
