I just got a shipping notice that The Addiction will be here tomorrow. It's been quite a few years since I saw but I always loved that one. The Blu-ray from Arrow should be dope!

I was a little too young to see it in the theatres when it was first released, but props to you. That would've been awesome...Was that in New York or something? It can't have gotten a wide release...

Re: Best film directed by Abel Ferrara.

I'm halfway through on watching the Arrow Video of The Addiction release on BD and it looks and sounds phenomenal. Have not even dug into the special features yet, but I have a feeling this BD will be on my top-10 of the year.

I see that China Girl is only $5.99 via VUDU in HDX. I had to ask if it's in the correct aspect ratio, though. I'm waiting to hear back. If any of you guys have it in your digital library let me know.

Re: Best film directed by Abel Ferrara.

I said fuck it and bought the HDX copy of China Girl on VUDU. It is in 1.85:1, so that's cool. It's only got the 2.0 soundtrack, which is what it's supposed to have.

I also had no idea that Shout Factory had put out Fear City years ago and that it was out of print. There's an Australian edition that has both cuts that can be gotten for about $20. The SF version is upwards of $40 on eBay.

Re: Best film directed by Abel Ferrara.

Just watched Driller Killer on iTunes - The Arrow Video release. It was one of the better "slasher" films of the late 70's. I loved the score and the rock band featured "The Coca Colas & The Roosters" rocked.

The special features were also cool as hell.

I love the old films that highlight how fucked up New York used to be. You can literally smell the piss in every frame
