Are you suggesting that the death of an 81 year old terminally ill man who smoked and drank heavily through much of his life isn't as surprising as the death of a healthy young man who died in an automobile accident?! Well I never...

The only surprising thing about O'Toole's death is that it didn't happen years ago.

It's 518 miles from where I live :p. If you put in for a day off from work on a day when it's showing in 70mm, you could probably make it. That would totally be worth it, IMO.

I always assumed from his "introducing" credit in Lawrence of Arabia that that was his first role, I was surprised when I went on the IMDb when he died and found it he wasn't. Lawrence of Arabia is one of those true roles of a lifetime, I wouldn't have blamed him if he'd walked away after that, but he went on to an impressive career afterwards too. Hell of a legacy, amazing talent.

Tickled pink that at least someone besides me mentioned Creator. His Dr. Harry Wolper in Creator and Alan Swann in My Favorite Year are two of my favorite film characters of all time.
