Better so "bad its good movie" Troll 2 or The Room?
On one side we have Troll 2: This movie which stared Alabama dentist Dr. George Hardy. He takes his family to the town of Nilbog(try reading that backwards) which causes his family to be menaced by Goblins who want them to eat green food and turn them into plants. This movie has a 0% on Rotten Tomatoes and held the #1 spot on the IMDB's bottom 100 for a year.

Then we have The Room. Tommy Wiseau's serious drama which he submitted to the Academy Awards. It's about a banker named Johnny who is engaged to a woman named Lisa. However he doesn't know that she is sleeping with his best friend Mark. This movie has a 33% rating on rotten tomatoes, and never made the IMDB bottom 100.

So which one wins the title of best "so bad it's good" movie?

I can't choose! They're both so exceptionally awful. My friends and I still do the corn dance from Troll 2 with each other when we get really loopy.
On the other hand, I got into The Room when it was originally released, and I felt like I had found a treasure trove of awfulness. I went to some of the first screenings for it. So I guess for sentimental reasons, I'll have to go with The Room.

Tough one. Even though I've only seen the Cartoon Network-version of ROOM, it still ended up being hysterical to me. But I still seemed to have had a better time with T2.

Still haven't seen Troll 2. I saw The Room- a friend brought it over but I've seen SO many movies that I just couldn't get what was so special about this one. Yes it's pretty bad, but so is Showgirls, Valley of the Dolls and hundreds of others. I still laugh every time I watch Showgirls! The Room is more like a bad TV drama or something.

It was their April Fools Day joke for 2009. I actually think more people discovered it that night than at any other time. Commercials for the DVD aired during the breaks and it became one of Amazon's top selling movies the day after.

I own both, but The Room I re-watch more so I pocked that.

I've somehow never seen either of these movies.

I haven't seen either, and don't plan to. I'm not a connoisseur of the "so bad it's good" rubric.

I found The Room to be more boring-bad than funny-bad. I've never even made it through the whole thing. Maybe it's because I saw it at the height of the hype and was bound to be let down. Troll 2 was more enjoyable bad by a long shot for me, although inri222's suggestion is pretty spot on. Cool As Ice was probably one of my first 'so-bad-it's-good' movie experiences.

Cool as Ice is dumb, but it's competently made...more mediocre than outright bad. It's biggest fault is probably the omission of "Ice Ice Baby" (I assume because of the lawsuit).
Fun fact: Janusz Kaminski was DP on that movie!

I've always wondered if part of the reason Spielberg made him his DP is because his experience on all of those exploitation movies taught him how to work quickly.

Re: Better so "bad its good movie" Troll 2 or The Room?
Cool as Ice outdoes The Room. Cool as Ice just has so much insanely dumb dialogue and situations that you have to laugh at it, but there's plenty of other straight-to-video movies comparable to The Room. The only thing that put that in the right context is that afterwards I learned that the director was also the star of it (hence getting to do the scene with the naked chick) but that it seemed like he genuinely believed the movie was a masterpiece. Still, can't hold a candle to Cool as Ice. Now that Vanilla Ice is pretty much out of the music business and gone on to other things, I wonder if he's spoken publicly about whether or not he was really serious and believed he was genuinely cool during all of his 15 minutes of fame?
