I love Brave. It wasn't at all what I was expecting (wanted more Braveheart, less princess) but once you remove expectations it's a good little movie.

Not their most popular or highest rated movie, but a killer for merch

I am sure my son will still be into Cars in 5 years. We'll be seeing this.

re: Cars 3 (Pixar/Disney, 2017)

Probably has something to do with idiots like this "investor," who clearly has no concept of diminishing returns. He was upset that Pixar announced they weren't releasing a film next year and instead wants them to put out two movies a year: http://www.fool.com/investing/genera...-to-focus.aspx

The article really embodies the clueless exec mentality. I understand that commerce is part of the equation, and part of art is being able to produce something worthy within commercial parameters. But... He was also upset they pushed back Pirates, saying that Disney should be releasing a new Pirates movie, a new Star Wars, and a new Avengers in the same year - to me, it seems prudent to hold off on Pirates and get it up to snuff.

Well there's racing and seems to focus on Lightning, so it's already got to be better then all the Mater crap from Cars 2.

I think someone at Pixar is confused as to who the audience is for this one. Was anyone asking for "Dark Mater"?

This will probably be the old story of he's washed up...but he takes a new car under his wing and teaches him to race.

Either way I'll probably see it. Hope they do it justice...the 2nd one wasn't the best.

CARS 2 was Pixar's worst movie to date. This one almost HAS to be an improvement.

re: Cars 3 (Pixar/Disney, 2017)

I couldn't make it all the way through Cars (I was bored with it), and Cars 2 looked worse.

I hope this one is better, that would give me more confidence in Pixar heading into Incredibles 2...

I was going to say the same thing. Looks more photo realistic. However, this is just a 40 second clip. I'm sure once we see the cars talking it'll be closer to what we're used to with the first two movies.

I'm cautiously optimistic this will be a much better story. But then, they don't have far to climb to get above Cars 2.

I'm so in. I have two small boys and you have no idea how many times I seen Cars 2 and Mater's Tales. Time for a change!

Re: Cars 3 (Pixar/Disney, 2017)

About 6 months ago Adam Carolla said on his podcast that he had been cast in this and attended the read through. He couldn't say what his part was.

I really liked the nostalgia aspect of Route 66 in Cars.

Re: Cars 3 (Pixar/Disney, 2017)

Just now reading this thread for the first time ...

First teaser = yay! Zach Snyder is directing Cars!

Second teaser = that should have been three separate teasers. Less than 2 minutes long, but I was bored when it felt like it hit the 120 minute mark with no end in sight. Kind of like Cars 2. The Tron car was cool looking though.
