Wolverine did not hit studio predictions but is by no means a dud, flop or bomb. Strong hold for an R-rated horror flick for Conjuring. The Heat is doing insanely well. Pacific Rim is now at $224m worldwide and is by far Guillermo Del Toro's highest grossing movie to date both domestically and worldwide.
Blue Jasmine, Woody Allen's new movie, had a crazy high opening. Don't think it'll hit Midnight in Paris's popularity ($151m worldwide) but impressive $102k per screen take.

They may have to up their prediction for Wolverine. I saw it this morning & the theater was packed.

It has a prediction of $15.6m for Sunday which accounts for a good number of busy showings.
The movie has made $141m worldwide so far.

Very strong hold for Conjuring, and well deserved, too.
WWZ close to $200M. Who the hell would've guessed that at the beginning of the summer?
Looks like This Is The End will fall a tad short of $100M.

R.I.P.D. won't even make fifty million. Grown Ups 2 hit the hundred million mark, guess we'll be getting Grown Ups 3 and his friends will be getting new cars. I guess you can be rewarded for mediocrity.

Don't see how Grown Ups 2 is making a profit. When I saw the worldwide take a week or so ago, it has only made a few million non-US. Isn't the normal rule that it has to make 3x budget to make a profit. Well if the budget is 80M, then it needs $240M to be profitable. I doubt it will get $150-$160M worldwide.
I haven't seen it but based on the trailers, how the hell did it take $80M for that? Is most of that just actor saleries?

I'm wondering a similar thing about Turbo. How did it cost twice as much to make that movie than Despicable Me 2. The animation of DM2 looks a lot better so I'm guessing for Turbo it's actor salaries and marketing.

Grown Ups 2 passed $100M!!!
That takes it to #17 for the year.
With any luck it can do $122M and take out G.I. Joe for the 13th spot, but I doubt it will do any better than that.
Easily the funniest movie I've seen this year!!!

The Conjuring will cross 100 million by the end of the upcoming week. Bring on the sequel! Not a bad ROI for a 12 million dollar flick.

I say this every time a low budget flick makes it big, but I do hope we get more $10m - $45m budgeted movies. They always seem infinitely more interesting than these $100 - $250m movies we've been getting lately.

So Pacific Rim should still barely hit $100 mil right? Even though its still a bomb based on budget, i'll be happy to see it at least hit that mark.
Was hoping Wolverine would be higher, but I think word of mouth might be a bit better for it going forward and hopefully it won't be too far off from First Class numbers.

I think I read somewhere that Despicable Me 2 was outsourced to an animation house in France.

Also: Fast & Furious 6 and Despicable Me 2 now combine for over $1.4 billion worldwide, and are on track to wind up around $1.6 billion. Combined, that makes this a very successful Summer for Universal Pictures (even if they do have to take a huge loss with R.I.P.D.).
Looks like they played their cards well with RIPD haha.

PR should close at around $105m. It's currently tracking slightly ahead of Cowboy's & Aliens, and if that turd can break $100m so can PR.
