Alan Burnett says it's the best thing he worked on out of all of the episodes. It's up there. I watched that three-parter so many time as a kid, I had a raggedy old VHS of it, and watching it now, it still holds up. If this movie is half as good as that, it'll be a miracle. And the TMS animation in it STILL looks good. Wow.

A friend of mine was upset after seeing the trailer saying Batman would have no chance and it was all stupid. He asked how could I even accept such a thing.
I replied 1. If I can accept a man can fly in a story, I can accept anything in said story. 2. Iron Man fights the Hulks. There's no difference.
And then theres this:

Actually, Superman wouldn't need to punch Batman at light speed. Just fly into space and kill has ass with heat vision. Morrison says that all the time. I get what he's saying, I do. There is a point when you have to suspend belief. I don't believe in wizards, goblins, Hobbits, dwarves, and elves. But that doesn't stop me from enjoying Tolkien. First of all, there is a point when it crosses over to sheer stupidity, where the creative team to simply do stupid things with impunity because it's fiction, and more importantly, I do ask that stories have some sort of internal logic. If you set up fictional rules, you have to abide by them. I don't ask if they be realistic, but I do ask that they be consistent.

Exactly, this movie is going to be a slap in the face to the comic books it is based on, which are always consistent and logical.

Comic books are serious business. Do not stray from the source material!!!! There better be some Pink Kryptonite in this movie!

A. Nice to see a fan on the 'other side' excited and not wishing for the film to fail.
B. Cavill puts this debate to rest. Moving on!
Joss Whedon couldn't be more excited about Warner Bros.' upcoming "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" film.
"I found [the trailer for 'Batman v Superman'] interesting," he shared in an interview with Yahoo Movies, "because they're bringing up a lot of issues that we bring up in 'Age of Ultron' and I think it’s inevitable."
"And besides, Batman and Superman are gonna fight! I’m so excited! I’m so excited!"

Star Henry Cavill has gone on the record with his belief that he doesn't see "Batman v Superman" as "Man of Steel 2."
“I wouldn’t call this a Superman sequel,” Cavill stated in an interview with MTV. “This is Batman versus Superman. It’s a separate entity altogether. It’s introducing the Batman character and expanding upon the universe, which was kicked off by ’Man of Steel.'”
Cavill revealed that he's only seen the footage in the trailer so far, so the film's final tone is still up in the air. “Everything could change in the editing room, but as it stands, it’s an introduction of the character,” continued Cavill. “And ultimately, the introduction of Justice League.”

I picture this was Joss Whedon's exact reaction to the trailer.

Close. And he hasn't heard about the backlash.

Was there ever really a feud between the two (as far as films go) anyways? DC were the ones who were kind of stirring shit up a bit initially with trying to release this film the same weekend as Captain America: Civil War. They were kind of making it out like Marvel should give up their release date when they had it before DC moved theirs. Other than that there's been some fanboy fights but that's all I'm aware of.

When Warner initially slotted BvS that weekend, Civil War was still "Marvel Film: TBD." Then Winter Soldier made bank at the B.O., Marvel announced Cap III for that spot. BvS was moved a couple of days after Guardians came out.

Either way, Marvel had a film slated for that weekend.

What Marvel gets right that DC just can't seem to understand is that the Marvel movies are FUN. There wasn't one moment of joy in MAN OF STEEL, and it looks like BATMAN V SUPERMAN is more of the same. I understand that DC wants to have a 'darker' superhero universe, but dark doesn't have to mean depressing...but that's what they've been delivering. Even Nolan's Batman movies had some levity to them.
