Re: Shhhh! Book to Film Sheep

Welcome to Book to Film Sheep. Let's get things underway, shall we.

Question 1:
S: What is Stanely Kubrick's best film based on a novel?

First, the wrong answer. Most people who picked this said they knew it was wrong, but figured it would be the overwhelming answer. Did it pay off?

Spoiler:

2001

Not a film based on a book, but a book based on a film.

2001 -6
Wishbone{sd}{sd} -18
Ivelostr2{sd}{sd} -18
rocket1312 {sd} -12
Hasslein{sd} -12

So how about the ultra-violent one?

Spoiler:

A Clockwork Orange -3
Brainee{sd} -9
Obi-Wan Jabroni {sd} -9
Crocker Jarmen {sd} -9

Well, not so great. The Sheep it seems went for the one often accused of being the worst adaptation...

Challenge: there are no wrong Sheep answers (at least not per the stated rules of this game).

I consider this an intentionally wrong answer since I knew it wasn't the best movie!

Way to bootsy those dunks. I just figured it was a recent and prominent flop, though it's probably not a superobvious book adaptation.

I made a late change from Wonka to Potter, with a brief thought of Oz. Kind of a wash any way I could have gone.

Re: Shhhh! Book to Film Sheep

I was hesitant on Potter, wasn't sure if we would have to be book specific than just the franchise overall.

Re: Shhhh! Book to Film Sheep

Did all of them say Harry Potter? Or are you combining them? If so, I challenge that.

Re: Shhhh! Book to Film Sheep

One person specified a Harry Potter book, but I said in the beginning that I would combine things like Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter under the series banner.

Re: Shhhh! Book to Film Sheep

Question 4
R: What theatrical movie adapted from a Stephen King novel (careful, I said novel) did Stephen King act in?

This question was unfair. With only two correct answers, it became a matter of rolling the dice on which of the two would be the least popular. And if you didn’t pick one of the correct two, then you were really going to take a penalty. It’s horrible, just like a Stephen King novel.

Now some people figured this was the place to use a slam dunk:

Spoiler:

Sadly, it was on an incorrect answer.

Stephen King appears in it as the asshole at the ATM, but it is not based on a novel, but the short story “Trucks”.

Maximum Overdrive +12
Drexl{sd} +12
Wishbone +12

Other missteps were taken by:

Spoiler:

Christine +12
Brainee +12

Misery +12
Davidh777 +12

I could have sworn Stephen King appeared in Misery as the Fabio hunk on the cover of the latest Misery book, but a quick review of the movie shows I was mistaken, that image only appeared in the novel.

Which leaves us the two correct answers

Spoiler:

Thinner +4
Kal Varnsen +4
Rockmjd23 +4
Shannon Nutt +4
Crocker Jarmen +4

PET SEMETARY +10
Hasslein +10
Ivelostr2 +10
ruddiger 718 +10
Cabman Gray +10
rocket1312 +10
Fist of Doom +10
Dave Ninja +10
Sleepyhead55 +10
Story{sd} -10
Obi-Wan Jabroni{sd} -10
