La Femme Nikita The Messenger was flawed but entertaining. Never seen Angel A but always wanted to. |
Re: Lucy (D: Besson; S: Johansson)
The plot description made me want to face palm. Sounds like the type of idea an 12 year old would come up with.
Teacher: "if you could make make a movie, what would it be about Johnny?" Kid: "uh, uh, oh I got it! How about this hot chick takes this drug and it turns her into a badass killing machine! And she doesn't feel pain now that she's a kickass warrior! Oh and of course she has powers too! There's alot of fighting and shooting and blowing shit up. There's also a hot lesbian scene in it too. Fuck yea!" |

Re: Lucy (D: Besson; S: Johansson)
Besson wrote the script for Lucy, which centers on a woman forced to become a drug mule. But the drug instead goes into her system, transforming her into an ass-kicking machine. She can absorb knowledge instantaneously, is able to move objects with her mind and can't feel pain and other discomforts.

Re: Lucy (D: Besson; S: Johansson)
Sounds like a female version of Crank to me... and I'm down with that with Scarlett as the lead.
|
Re: Lucy (D: Besson; S: Johansson)
That's what I thought.
Talking about Crank. I kind of like Crank 1. It's alright. Crank 2? I fucking love it somehow. I don't know how cuz it literally has soooo many things that would make me not like it but I like it. Great BD. Maybe I just really like the BD a lot. I'd be game for a Crank 3. |

BUT I have to say that my favorite of his is The Big Blue (1988) "Le grand bleu" and I prefer the US cut to any of the others. The Bill Conti OST is far better than the '80s Eric Serra stuff that he had in the original and Directors cuts. Lucky enough to have the HDTV cap of this version. |
Re: Lucy (D: Besson; S: Johansson)
Okay this is old-ish news (by about a month) but Choi Min-sik of Oldboy and I Saw the Devil is making his English language movie debut with this film.
Also, this seems to be one of the first on set images of Scarlett: http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2013/...35_634x428.jpg |

Re: Lucy (D: Besson; S: Johansson)
Yep. He was also the villain in Sympathy for Lady Vengeance.

Re: Lucy (D: Besson; S: Johansson)
And also the baddie in I Saw the Devil.
He's an awesomely intense actor in those roles. Seems like a good polar opposite from what he really is in real life which seems to be a nice guy. |
Re: Lucy (D: Besson; S: Johansson)
So basically this'll be Crank if it were directed by Luc Besson and with Scarlet Johansson in the Jason Statham role? Awesome! :D
|
Re: Lucy (D: Besson; S: Johansson)
also Morgan Freeman is in this as well
|
Re: Lucy (D: Besson; S: Johansson)
When will we see a trailer?

Re: Lucy (D: Besson; S: Johansson)
should be interesting to see her actually act again, unlike whatever the fuck she does when playing in the Marvel universe.

Luc Besson B-movie shoot'em ups aren't known for their performances though, let's be honest.
