In my commentary, I didn't say I loved her performance or that it was anything special. She's gorgeous and had good chemistry with Cruise. I also liked the flashbacks that showed their back story.
If any of you have Starz, she's a series regular on Magic City. Looks just as good.

Finally saw this and actually enjoyed it, for the most part. I've seen worse movies this year.

I liked this. I had no clue what to expect and maybe having those small expecations helped. The plot was not hard to follow, but thankfully mysterious enough for most of the movie to keep me interested in what was going to happen. I love that the soundtrack was similar to Tron. Straying far away from rock and roll based backing IMO gives Sci-Fi a more true feel. Definitely helped with this flick.

I ended up enjoying this quite a bit. It definitely reminded me a lot about Moon, although without as strong a character leading the way. Visuals were fantastic as everyone has mentioned, and plot seemed pretty simple. I completely forgot about the trailers and marketing for it, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect and the movie really did seem to have two tones, with the first half completely different then the second. The plot reveals weren't entirely unexpected and certainly seemed derivative of recent sci fi the last decade or so, but it was still entertaining despite not being very original which was good enough for me.
And i've loved Olga for awhile now, so I loved seeing her in this.

I really enjoyed this flick. Yeah, it treads a lot of familiar territory and is derivative of a lot of other sci-fi flicks. But the film is rather up front with that and even points it out with
I really liked the small cast and how confined it all was.
I get that the marketing department must've had a heck of a time trying to decide how best to advertise this movie without spoiling the whole thing. However, I wish they'd somehow managed to keep Morgan Freeman completely absent from the marketing materials. His role, though important, is so minor that it would have been best left a surprise.
All in all, a great flick and it looks and sounds fantastic on BD. I also like that the isolated score was encoded in Dolby True HD and at 96 kHz.

Great fucking visuals.
Excellent fucking score.
The amount of detail simply immerses you into the film.
The extras on this blu are fantastic. Wish I would've caught this in the theater.

Re: Oblivion (Kosinski, 2013) — The Reviews Thread
I watched this again on (reference-quality) BD recently. I liked it even more the second time around. Honestly, if the only complaint people can come up with is that the film is "derivative", then I'd love to know what sci-fi they've been watching that isn't. Kosinski came up with a cool story, that by some miracle of Christ managed to avoid blowing shit up every two seconds, and I think the fact that it was actually sci-fi turned off many viewers. I also really like that he "brought sci-fi back into the light" (his quote) and made it look gorgeous.
Could I nitpick things? Sure, but I liked the film and it isn't really necessary.
But I do have one question: what the hell is everyone eating?

I enjoyed it far more than I thought I would. Yeah the film is derivative as hell -- Moon, WALL-E, The Matrix, even the fershluggin Independence Day, and almost any dystopian 70s sci-fi movie --but it was entertaining and, more importantly, had FAR more on its mind than just "blowing shit up".
3.5 out of 5 for me. Enjoyed it

Low expectations, but I kind of liked it, awesome score/world/visuals.
Did Clone Victoria ever get off that mountain top? I see agent 52 made it to the promise land.

Finally got a chance to watch this last night, and I liked it a lot. The sound, visuals, and most of the performances were top notch. The story could have used a little more originality, but overall I thought it was a solid sci-fi flick.

Saw this last night on Blu and liked it. The strong visuals and thundering sound made up for less than original plot. I give it 3.5/5.
One question: The whole ship crashing, sleeper pods all over, had me confused. Wasn't it years prior they were on the ship? What happened in the meantime? I obviously missed something when I took the dogs out.

The signal activated their guidance mechanism to come down to earth.
The weak point of the movie was the necessity of the clones, I don't see why an advanced machine capable of building advanced drones would need the clones.
But still, decent movie.

I gave this movie five stars because I really loved it, of course not only for the visuals but this movie made me think. I think the ending was amazing!

There's a subtle strain of social commentary running through it: Harper has a rigid routine punctuated occasionally by dull, dispassionate sex to distract him from the truth. "We are NOT an effective team." It's gorgeous-look, but most of the action scenes are dull, the characters spend a little too much time figure out things we already know or confusing my dumb ass, and it's constantly ripping off better stuff like 2001, Independence Day, Omega Man, and most of the action scenes are rather weak. The design work is really cool though, especially the architecture. It isn't brilliant, but it is a little different than your usual blockbuster and has some cool images. The second half gets a little repetitive after the stronger start, but it has a cool soundtrack too.
