Speaking of treat, the sequels starring Treat Williams were also fun.

Perry movies are terrible, but I don't avoid them on any principle other than I try to not waste time on bad movies. Battleship was the best movie of 2012.

Best scene in the movie, too!
I would actually very much like to see a typical Tyler Perry movie on opening night with his target audience, just to know what it's like. But the stars never quite align properly for that to happen. Barring that, I'd just like someone to point me to the one that best sums up the Perry mythos, or whatever.

I guess if "the movie looks like crap" is considered "on principle", then there are a ton (torture porn, Michael Bay movies, Uwe Boll stuff, etc).
But, in terms of "on principle" in terms of some sort of moral outrage over a film's message or marketing, no. A well made film is a well made film even if I do not agree with its message.

An Inconvenient Truth is the only one that jumps immediately to mind (because of Gore, not global warming).

The only films I avoid on principle are crappy ones.

Why do they look bad to me? Because they look like they're pandering. They all look the same, same type of humor, same type of religious overtones. They also cater to black audiences, which is fine, I just happen to not be a black audience member.
Maybe if I were black and religious and liked those kind of feel-good overcoming adversity type movies I would like them but I'm not any of those things.
And if it were those exact movies with all white cast members I would avoid them as well.

I guess I'm one of those guys, though I don't think there's anything neat or cool about saying so. I've never seen a Tyler Perry movie because they all look terrible. Also, I'm not, as The Infidel already stated as well, the target demographic for those movies.

Spike Lee because he's a racist piece of shit. Probably anything from the rapist Roman Polanski, too.
