Just watched this. I had a terrible feeling that they were going to leap of the roof at the end there. Which would have been awful considering they could have each other.

Cool movie though.

I'll get this as soon as the price goes down. It's a great flick.

Re: Her -- D: Spike Jonze S: Phoenix -- 2013

I guess my expectations were just too high because I finally got around to watching this (blind-bought the Blu-ray), and I did not enjoy it nearly as much as I thought I would. I mean, this had all the right things going for it... all the right pieces to the puzzle... but the end result? A boring flick about deep relationships that left me feeling uninterested and disengaged from the characters.

Either I just wasn't in the right mood, or it's just not as good as it should have been. I might revisit it down the road, but I'm not eager to do that.

On the other hand, my wife thought it was great.

And I loved the trailer. A lot. I feel like I got Cosmopolis'ed.

Let it sit for a while and then watch it again. I had the same reaction as you on my first viewing, but it totally clicked with me on a second watch.

I could've written this post. It had all the ingredients for a movie I'd love (including the cast), and I couldn't wait to see it. I wasn't bored, exactly, but I never really connected to it. I never bought fully into the relationship or felt any emotion when it began to dissolve. I enjoyed the scenes between Phoenix and Amy Adams and felt a connection there a heck of a lot more than between Phoenix and the O.S., even though Scarlet gave a good performance as well.

I dunno... I was hoping for more and was disappointed in the end.

I was glad this was a rental and not a purchase. An OK movie but not nearly what I was hoping for or expecting given the talent

I feel the same way. Watched it recently on vacation and while I love the cast and director, I thought the film was dull and uneventful. Really found myself not caring what happened after a while.

Wait, what? Is it because of Cosmopolis?

I give it 2.75 stars, or a grade of B-.

Watched it today and feel the same way.

Can't help but notice this trend. Anytime a thread is bumped for a movie that came out a few months/year or so ago I know its highly likely that someone didn't care for it "because they knew it would be bad".

I actually thought it would be good, but after DVR'ing it and getting around to seeing it, I thought this was forgettable at best. I'm all for a good love story between a boy and his iPod, but this one just didn't gel with me. And I still can't get over the whole "we're killing the OS" stupidness. I'll stick with Johansson's silly Lucy instead. At least she kicked some ass in that.

They also tend to end their faint praise with the words "at best." Seriously, it's the lazy man's insult. Keep an eye out for it.

Aww...don't take it personally. It's just not a good film. Nothing wrong with that.

94 percent fresh on Rotten Tomatoes

90 on Metacritic

But hey, you gave it your half-hearted attention a year and a half after it came out, so you know best.

I thought it was very good. Loved the game that was played in the movie.
