Iconic props that made cameos in other films

Yes, a thread that directs you to an external link. But I thought some of these were interesting enough to incur the wrath of the thread nazis at DVDtalk.

My favorites are the ones Tarantino puts into all of his movies...Big Kahuna Burger, Red Apple Cigarettes, etc.

They put an R2D2 on the deck of the pirate ship used in the final sequence of The Goonies.

Re: Iconic props that made cameos in other films

JJ Abrams and Slusho
Bond going through old props, complete with musical cues in OHMSS
Totoro sneaking into movies, including Toy Story 3
The Pixar "Luxo Jr." starred ball in all of their movies
Rob Reiner's "scrambled eggs" hat from "Spinal Tap" in the bedroom in "The Princess Bride"

Also, props labled in certain fashions:
Kubrick and stuff with CRM-114
Lucas and stuff with THX-1138
John Landis and "See You Next Wednesday"

Freddy's glove in Evil Dead 2.

EDIT: Ah, I see it was in the story.

The same tools used on Bill Murray in Little Shop of Horrors and Jack Nicholson in Batman is interesting, since Nicholson played the same role in the original LSOH.

Red Apple Cigs also showed up in Romy & Michelle's High School Reunion because QT was dating Sorvino at the time.

Doesn't fully count because it was a music video but the Kill Bill Pussy Wagon appears in the Lady Gaga "Telephone" video as Tarantino is a fan (and wanted her for a part in Django Unchained but had to turn it down

In Predator 2, there was an Alien skull in the Predator ship.

Not sure if it counts as a prop or a cameo but Robby the Robot sure does pop up in a lot of movies.

R2 is also on the outside of the mothership in Close Encounters.

R2 and C3PO are also depicted on a heiroglyph in the Well of Souls in Raiders of the Lost Ark.

more of a character than a prop but there's a Triffid in E.T's spaceship

supposedly there's a flying shoe in one of the shots of the final battle in Return of the Jedi - I've never seen it though.

Some of my favourites are the rounded, triangular capsules that were in the Genesis cave in Star Trek II. They were also used as the spaceship in Hobgoblins. The prop was actually a Little Tykes space capsule toy box that I had one of when I was a kid.

Another favourite is the car that Robbie The Robot used in Forbidden Planet. It was also used in an episode of Twilight Zone as a "future" car.

The space pod from 2001 is in The Phantom Menace.

The flying cars from Blade Runner are also in it:

The CRS station wagon that James Rebhorn's character drives (and smuggles Michael Douglas into CRS HQ) in The Game is parked in front of the bar in Fight Club during the "I want you to hit me as hard as you can." scene.

Speaking of Blade Runner, the Millennium Falcon appears as a building in the film:

Am I the only one uncomfortable with the fact that an actress is listed as a prop?

They may have used one from 2010 as Kubrick destroyed virtually everything from 2001.

Do you mean in the article linked in the OP?

The #4 prop isn't Janet Leigh, but rather the car from Psycho, which Janet Leigh drove in both Psycho and Halloween H20.

#10 is an actress.

Edit: Nevermind, they were talking about the sword she uses.
