Missed it shits been released so it will be out forever. I miss a lot of movies in theaters doesn't mean you can't still see it eventually.
Not to digress but another thing I don't get is when people wait in long lines to see movies opening weekend just to say they saw it. I mean what's the point of that? My girlfriend and I saw The Dark Knight Rises in Imax three weeks after it was released. No line same movie that everyone saw opening weekend. And we got there 5 minutes before showtime and got great seats. Maybe its that I'm getting older I start to notice these things.

I want to see The Last Stand and Bullet To The Head.
Clearly, this isn't John Wayne's era where his fans kept going to his movies well into his 60's. The weird part about that is that both Stallone and Schwarzennegger are in far better shape than The Duke was at their age. He still had that presence and pulled it off, but he was clearly overweight and out of shape as compared to what he was in his 40's.

Since I've moved from San Diego I haven't stood in line to see a movie. And I haven't changed my movie-watching habits.

Hell, I saw The Avengers on the opening weekend and all I had to do was show up about 25 minutes early to get great seats for my entire family. No line. The show was packed, but not until about 10 minutes before the lights went down. Granted, it was a 10:30 showing, but it's not that hard to make it to the theater by 10:00.

My go-to theaters there were the AMC 20 and Edwards Mira Mesa. For a long time the Edwards was the only IMAX option for regular movies as you know. Back then there would be a line for a summer tentpole flick even early on Sunday. Not saying it happened all the time but it would still happen. Nowadays it's probably even rarer with more IMAX choices.

It's also nice to see the latest big movie right away if you enjoy being able to discuss it with people, such as on this forum. Waiting a bit in line isn't THAT big of a deal.

Yep. I'm pretty patient so, even if I have to wait, it's no big deal.

I just don't understand how The Expendables films do so well, but both of their individual, non franchise roles bomb. Aren't old school action junkies interested in seeing these? I know they don't look THAT great, but I honestly would rather see one of these than the latest movie from The Rock or Jason Statham.
Lets hope Bruce has more luck, not that I think a Die Hard movie will bomb.

Arnold, Stallone and Willis are old and can't really draw anymore. It doesn't really have anything to do with the movies being R rated action flicks.
I do expect Die Hard 5 to do a bit better than the others though.

I'm a big fan of both actors, but it was pretty easy to wait on these. Terrible decision to release BTTH on superbowl wknd also. Hopefully the team-up for The Tomb later this year has better results, I'll probably go to see that one.

I do however think that Willis will do good with A Good Day to Die Hard. Mostly because it's a franchisie movie and I'd be willing to bet a lot of people have seen at least one of the films from the franchise so it might get a little bit more interest going than The Last Stand or Bullet to the Head.
I think the same would apply if Schwarzenegger did another Terminator film or something he's more known for. Same with Stallone if he did another Rambo or Rocky. I could see The Tomb possibly doing a bit better since it's a team up movie, but I guess we'll have to wait to see for certain. I actually enjoyed both Schwarzenegger's and Stallone's recent outings for what they were to be honest. It's a shame they didn't do better and hopefully their performances at the box office don't put another nail in the coffin for R rated action movies.

BTTH looked like shit from everything we were given.
Last Stand looked iffy cuz well..it's been a shit long time since Arnold had a film that could be his. Beyond that...it was very fucking well directed.

Not if the marketers, who had already delayed the film a few times (Originally 4/12/12 to TBD to 2/1/13), wanted a built in excuse for the film's failure... Beside admitting they couldn't actually sell the film.

Bullet to the Head actually wasn't shit though if you ask me. It's not going to go down as an all time classic action movie or anything like that but it was fun enough. It's one of those movies where your expectations should really be in check before going to see it. For a decent popcorn action movie it's perfectly fine and I'll probably pick it up on Blu-ray eventually.

The most interesting thing about this weekend's box office is that Skyfall surpassed The Biggest Thing To Ever Happen In The History Of The Motion Pictures on the worldwide box office chart to become 2012's #2 film.
