I would have to say that the "geek-out fest" type of movies (LOTR, Harry Potter, Star Wars etc.) are my fave to watch in a big theatre. You know your in a for a treat no matter what when people are showing up in full on costume. If anything the before movie banter that happens is always pretty amusing. And I have to say that watching a full on light saber fight happen right before Revenge of the Sith had me rolling in my seat.

But just strictly favorite genre I'd have to say Horror (^_^)

Film noir, but it's not really a genre.

Had to think about it long and hard before picking action. But I don't own that many action movies in my collection. Go figure.

I don't think I have a favorite genre, but I voted drama/mystery/suspense. I like some comedy, action, sci-fi, etc., but I'd say overall drama wins out.

I think war probably has the highest success rate.

Sci fi without a doubt.

Anything that's good will transcend all genre (think Rushmore) but I'm a huge fan of anything that pushes the realm of reality with a technological theme (think Ghost in the Shell 1 & 2)

According to DVDAF, it is Suspense / Thriller (North by Northwest, The Machinist, Syriana), followed by Crime Action / Adventure (Ocean's Twelve, Training Day, Pulp Fiction), and finally Dark Comedy (Ghost World, Very Bad Things, Three Kings).

Or, we can just say me favorite genre is George Clooney. He's dreamy.

Alright, I tried the DVDAF-tactic and it looks like foreign wins there. Considering that I include martial arts films as foreign too.

I think there needs to be a Sci-Fi/Horror choice. That is my favorite genre.

Your favorite film genre?

I thought about making this a multiple choice poll, but in the end I wanted to know which one tops them all. I realize there are dozens of possible genres, so I didn't get overly specific. Select other and explain your choice.

I love many genres, but if forced to choose I'd say crime.

Top 5:
Crime
Thriller
Mystery
Action
Drama

My least favorite would have to be Comedy. I rarely watch comedies at the theaters.

Re: Your favorite film genre?

Hard question..I'd go with drama as top because so many of my personal favorites fit in that genre. Also love action, historical/period pieces, thriller, sci-fi as well.

Re: Your favorite film genre?

Everything is either a drama or a comedy. Those are the only 2 genres (IMO, at least). I vote drama.

Re: Your favorite film genre?

I love me some crime. I'm a huge fan of spaghetti westerns, but I felt like I'd be a fraud to choose the western category.

Re: Your favorite film genre?

I guess I shouldn't be surprised that horror is the top choice so far
