A good drama.

Hill Harper gave a great performance

Who would ever think Wayne Brady could play a gangsta from the hood

The Professor (2018) — Good performance from Johnny Depp, reminding us of his old charming self before he got lazy with "quirky" characters, has some genuinely funny moments totally ruined by a terrible and utterly off-putting ending. 2.5/5

Maybe for the first 10 minutes I was into it then it became boring and stupid.

Saw Godzilla: King Of Monsters last night. I thought it had some rather awesome scenes; 1) anything with Mothra!, 2) King Ghidirah emergence, 3) Rodan was my 2nd fav - overll this was good film in this series.

It had some funny moments but not a great movie

I think this was the directorial debut of Judy Greer and she had a all-star cast to work with.

Back in 2004 when Meg Ryan got leading roles.

It was kind of boring though watching Ryan in slutty dresses is a bonus.

Vice Squad (1982) — Decent enough 1980s crime-thriller that actually does feature some good performances, most notably from what has to be a great name, Wings Hauser. That said, the cheesy and laughably awful opening and closing title songs really do not match the tone of the movie at all. 3.0/5

I actually think this could be re-made as a mini-series for HBO or Netflix.

It was on Cinemax but the HD transfer was mediocre and the colors seemed faded and not that vibrant.

I thought it was ok after the first viewing but then after a second or third viewing I realized it was a average movie.

Kind of shocking the Blu-ray release was not pristine quality on a 82" screen but not surprising since it is Warner Bros

Maybe they did that on purpose so you rent or buy a 4K Disc.

Lethal Weapon (1987) — One of the best action movies of all-time in my book, and right there with Die Hard, Lethal Weapon still holds up so well thanks to the chemistry between Mel Gibson and Danny Glover. Even with the over-the-top staged fight scene at the end, this is just an all around entertaining flick. 4.5/5

(Reason I decided to watch it again today was saw it was on A&E and rather than watch a crappy edited version, why not watch the real deal in 1080p HD?)

The Aftermath (2019) — Decent enough film though neither elements of war-time drama with romance aspects really meshed very well with one another, despite well done performances from Keira Knightley, Jason Clarke and Alexander Skarsgard. It's also well shot by director James Kent and his cinematographer Franz Lustig. It's probably worthy of a rental especially if you like the cast. 3.0/5

I am a sucker for WWII movies

It was not bad

Spoiler:
I thought she would go back to her husband but then for a while it looked like she might leave him.

Apollo 11 (2019) 5.0/5

Missed this during its early-March one week IMAX run and had hoped it would return. No such luck so re-watched the blu on 7/20.

The Killer Inside Me (2010) 4.0/5

Book and movie combo. A psychopathic West Texas deputy sheriff (Casey Affleck) has his childhood demons resurface when he is slapped by an attractive prostitute (Jessica Alba). No academy award nominations but the film was deservedly nominated for the "Sexist Pig Award" by the Alliance of Women Film Journalists and won the "Hall of Shame" award at the Women Film Critics Circle Awards.

This was the film that introduced me to Jim Thompson's crime novels -- when I first watched it on DVD years ago I wondered what kind of warped mind could create such badly flawed yet authentic characters. Found Thompson's background fascinating. Given his powers of observation and ability to utilize his life experiences in his writings one wonders what might have become of Thompson if he had been born at a different time and to different circumstances.

Ranking so far:
1. Thor
2. Captain America: The First Avenger
3. Avengers
4. The Incredible Hulk
5. Iron Man
6. Iron Man 2
