The Commuter (2018) on Amazon Prime. I was looking for something mindless, and I found it. The opening sequence establishing the lead character as an everyman caught in the daily grind is actually very well done, but style and substance are quickly abandoned, culminating in some laughably poor CGI (and physics) in the third act. Vera Farmiga is better than this. Liam Nesson was, until he became the new Charles Bronson.

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

I’m a big fan of horror movies because they are mysterious, creepy, and thoughtful.
The latest one I watched is:
A Quiet Place
PLOT: A family is forced to live in silence while hiding from creatures that hunt by sound.
Totally enjoyed this one and I pray they make a sequel!

Mailk was an amazing Freddie Mercury. He seemed to get the mannerisms and movements down very well. He could have gained 5 lbs. He is very slight compared to Mercury. Mercury was slim, Malik is skinnier. The concert recreation was great right down to the Pepsi and beer cups on the piano. The shots over Mercury's shoulder showing the crowd is obvious green screen cgi. solid 4.5/5

All the Devil's Men (2019) — Better than expected but not sure that says much. Not entirely competently made yet I think under more experienced hands, might have made for a fine action-thriller. Still unsure about Milo Gibson, need to see him with a better script. Oh, and shame William Fichtner's role was more than 10-minutes... Another thing, that poster is a blatant lie. First, I'm not even sure this takes place in London and besides, we never see Big Ben or the London Bridge. 2.5/5

Waterworld: The Ulysses Cut (1995) — Been a long time since I had seen the theatrical cut of Waterworld but decided to give the "Ulysses" Cut a shot having just gotten the Arrow Video release. While a scooch long, and some dated effects, was still highly entertaining and engaging apocalyptic action-er with some great performances (if not over-the-top in regards to Hopper, no surprise there) and set pieces. Only reason, though, it's remembered was its massive budget (adjusted for inflation, it's close to $292M; still less than Justice League!) but seems like it has its fans over the 20+ years. 3.75/5

A good biopic and a movie most people have not seen.

Not a huge Queen fan but I liked this movie and I want to hear the other songs that did not become massive hit or anthems.

It started out promising and then became stupid. Way too long at 2 hrs and 22 minutes. The scenes with Cynthia Erivo singing just dragged.

Any movie with Dakota Johnson is a sign that it is going to suck.

Spoiler:
Once John Hamm's character was killed the movie went downhill.

It almost felt like a new movie watching the extended cut.

One of my favorite movies of all-time and wish Pacino would do more movies.

Been a long time I haven't seen a good Stevan Segal flick. I really enjoyed this one tonight. Reminded me of the 80's type action flicks. I miss those days of young Segal, and Van Damme movies when they both were on top of their kick ass game.

Saw this one when it came out. Kind of a typical Segal movie of late IIRC where he's primarily sitting around and anytime he even has to move it would be his stunt double doing any of the work; there was one movie of his where his stunt double was walking up some stairs (can't remember if it was this one, they all kind of blend together). I've given up on him making a good movie at this point, sadly.

Polar (Netflix)
A Netflix film about a retiring Hitman who’s employer want him gone sooner. Not bad of a film if you like over the top violence along with some gratuitous topless and sex scenes.

You are right, Seagal didn't move much in this film.

Better yet, in the movie Code of Honor, he didn't have a single line until 48-minutes into a 106-minute movie... AND likely his stunt double was utilized for mundane scenes.

The Sect (1991)

While Michele Soavi's film really gets running during its 2nd hour, it is littered with strong visuals and equally strong Cast.

I thought it would be terrible with a mostly no-name cast but it was alright.

Logan-Marshall Green is dating Marisa Tomei so he hit the jackpot.

Mobile Suit Gundam Narrative (NT) (2018)

Admittedly, I know nothing of the series.

Attended a Fathom Events Screening of the film with one of my best friends who absolutely loves the series.

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

Robin Hood (2018) – Another needless adaptation that has some okay action and Jamie Foxx at least was decent, and Ben Mendolsohn and F. Murray Abraham were hilariously over-the-top, but Taron Egerton was a weak Robin and had zero chemistry with Eve Hewson's Marian. I didn't hate it but clearly Lionsgate with its sequel-baiting at the end had hoped this would be a franchise for them. Thankfully audiences around the world were disinterested in this. 2.25/5

Serenity - This movie was just thoroughly silly. I get what they were going for, but they didn't really pull it off. At least it was better than Replicas.
Spider-man Into the Spider-verse - Loved it. Smaller theater but it looked and especially sounded absolutely fantastic.

It was ok though maybe you have to suspend belief that Jim Parsons would be married to Claire Danes
