47 Ronin (2013)

So bad I didn't remember I had seen it before rewatching it again.

Ghosts of Mars (2001)

A guilty pleasure. I love the cheapish studio looks, the bad over-acting and the telegraphed dialogues. The main villain is also totally useless. Still I keep watching it every few years!

Rogue (2008)

Second viewing and still not impressed. Neither scary nor captivating. The croc is obviously CGI and a lot of the scares are obvious. Nice scenery though.

Vanity was smoking hot back then. I found some of it entertaining and some of it cringe inducing.
She died in a hospital in my hometown Fremont, CA back in 2016.

I had no idea she was living around here.

"10" (1979)

I remember renting this on VHS as a teenager and fastforwarding just to see the spicy bits with Bo Derek naked. Now, I finally got to watch the whole thing and its neither very funny nor particularly interesting. Derek was certainly a "10" (she was even more stunning in "Orca" and with all her clothes on too!) but other characters were not really on fire. Not a complete waste of time but not essential viewing.

Yeah, I remember buying this the day it came out and was very excited, as I loved Greg McLean's previous movie, Wolf Creek. Was tremendously disappointed with this one. I gave it another chance a couple years later but still hated it. Just a bad movie.

Love Pam Grier, Ice Cube, and Statham in this...It's really not a bad movie...I like this one...

I actually like that one along with The Beyond and City of the Living Dead. Fulci's films are nowhere near George Romero's first 3 "Dead" films, but even though they aren't very well written, I find them very atmospheric and entertaining.

It does take sort of a 180 about half way from a realistic Dardenne Bros feel to more of a Polanski dark psychological thriller.

In Tranzit

Very good melodrama with some excellent performances by John Malkovich, Vera Farmiga, Thomas Kretschmann, Daniel Brühl and others.
Now streaming on Amazon.

THe Incredible Hulk Pilot episode

Watched just the pilot for this old 80s series. I didn't remember the wig for Ferrigno was so awful. I think they fixed it a bit when the series started (from memory). Although the story is okay, its a bit silly to get the first Hulk transformation after Bixby (Banner, called David here!) gets a flat tire and hurts himself trying to change the wheel while its raining! Talk about an awesome supervillain: your car's spare tire!

John Wick 2 (2017)

I know a lot of folks like this (at least the first one), but for me a totally non-credible super killer who gets worked up and exacts a bloody revenge because of his car (and/or dog) is so stupid its not worth seing. Keanu can't act shit. He walks super cool while shooting bad guys and that's some sort of protection I guess: super cool shield-walk. All those professional killers and bodyguard can't hit him once (or when they do it just hurts him a bit). PLus this all powerful network of hotel-sanctuaries with all kinds of crook services is just way too much for my limited suspension of disbelief. At least when you get mutants or zombies or guys in nano-technology armors (whatever that is!), its not pretending to be serious, you know its invention.

Deathstalker 3: And the warriors from hell

Soooo bad I couldn't find a picture of it on Amazon. I wasted an hour an a half of my life and now I'm wasting a few more minutes to post about it!
The evil wizard looks like the middle age bald guy from my local bar and the Warriors from Hell are a bunch of wimpy old men ressucitated and who actually talk with Deathstaleker instead of attacking him! God help us, even Golan Globus films are Oscar material compared to this!

Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2 (1987) — One star for being a bad movie. Five stars for Eric Freeman's truly amazing, dare I even say, brilliant performance. Shame one has to sit through basically half the movie watching clips from the first one... But once we get past that, it's the perfect good bad movie. 1.0/5

Megan Kelly interviewed her and she said her husband John Derek would criticize her looks if she had a bad hair day or gained weight and she said it did not bother her since he was an artist? WTF?

That would not fly today in the metoo era.

Peppermint (2018) — Okay action-thriller that is pretty similar to other revenge movies like Death Wish and John Wick. Nice seeing Jennifer Garner back to form and kicking ass again. Hope she lands more roles along these lines. That said, despite Garner performing well, the script was pretty standard fare, though pretty much glosses over how she became a fighting machine (probably any big scenes were axed to save on the budget), might make good as a rental. 3.0/5

I might have seen this before but I could not remember anything.

It was not as awful as the reviews would make you believe though not great either.

Julianne Moore was in this too which is hard to believe

BTW 1990 Julianne Moore

I thought either aspect would have worked well on its own, especially the opening dramatic section, which I liked quite a bit, but they were incongruent together, and the shift to sinister cruelty was jarring. One should mention that the film is quite well-directed by its star, Ana Asensio.

Loving Vincent (2017)

Beautifully animated. Wasn't expecting this film to be a Murder-Mystery but that in itself was a pleasant surprise.

I saw this in the theater. In spite of it being a standard revenge film, I found it far superior to the reboot of Death Wish and found myself quite entertained. I may add this one to my collection.

Watch this streaming from Netflix and thought it was pretty good. The young actor playing Mowgli was better acting than the one playing the live action Jungle Book who I thought his acting was a little too stiffed. The movie is pretty dark there one scene that was very sad to watch. Surprise how Kaa was played in this one she neither bad or good. I give it a 3.5/ 5

It was on HDNET Movies

Not one of Brian De Palma's best films.

Lost interest after 45 minutes.
