In A Lonely Place (1950, S: Humphrey Bogart)
https://www.kino.dk/sites/default/fi...?itok=o63GlRPi

Excellent film noir starring Bogart as a screenwriter with a bad temper who's suspected of murder. He falls in love with his beautiful neighbor (played by Gloria Grahame), but she has doubts about his behavior. It's a pretty bleak movie, even considering the genre, but the performances and dialogue are good and the story--simple as it is--still sucked me in.

I recognized Grahame instantly as "Violet" from It's a Wonderful Life. She's gorgeous and turns in a great performance here.

Gothic (1986) — When it wasn't confusing it was quite dull. Only saving grace are some good performances and respectable production design 2.25/5

Batman: Gotham by Gaslight (2018) — Well made, and beautifully animated, Elseworlds story that I thoroughly enjoyed for its setting and the voice work from both Bruce Greenwood and Jennifer Carpenter. 3.75/5

Super Dark Times - It lives up to its name! The paranoia and anxiety are well-played by the lead actor. I wish the motivations of some of the other characters were better explored.

This was surprisingly funny.

Zoe-Lister Jones should leave that CBS show and just write movies. She wrote, directed, and starred in this movie. DVR it if you have Showtime.

Never even knew who she was until I saw Life In Pieces. Now I think she's the best one on the show. Can't wait to see her segments.

Proof positive that a woman doesn't need huge curves and big fake tits to be sexy. Always thought Theron was incredibly sexy.

That was an intense telling of a very dark chapter in the civil rights saga. Will Poulter was quite good as a dirt bag brutal racist cop. Anyone who thinks there is distrust of the police these days should see this. Old enough to remember the events but not old enough to really know much detail. I just remember the big headlines; MLK, Kennedy, riots, Vietnam, protests. Crazy time in American life.

Hostiles

A solid Western with good performances by the three leads, though it did seem to crib from a number of other Westerns (including a particularly obvious Searchers reference).

Thor Ragnarok - Really enjoyed it, unlike most Marvel flicks - this felt more like a full movie and less like an "episode". IMO at least.

Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992) on Amazon, no thanks to Raising Cane's, who used it as a Christmas promotion and made my kid want to watch it. He has actually watched it several times over the past couple of months, but I hadn't watched it start to finish with him until the other day.

I saw it theatrically as a teenager, but didn't remember it being so slapstick (complete with sound effects) and such a rehash of the first one. It also resulted in some uncomfortable conversations about the WTC and Trump's cameo. He is forbidden from watching any of the other Culkin-less sequels. ;)

The Silence of the Lambs (1991) — Excellent psychological/suspense thriller, this was probably my third or fourth time seeing it, that still holds up so well all these years later.

4.75/5, (A, 9.5/10, 3.75/4)
