James Bond with a dye job, Elvis' granddaughter, Magic Mike, Kylo Ren, and the son of Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid all get together to rob the Charlotte Motor Speedway during the Coca-Cola 600.
For as goofy and implausible as it was, I found it pretty fun. Loaded with plot holes, cliché's, and stereotypes yet still seemed to squeak out some heart. I don't usually see twists coming before they happen but this one I suspected was the case.

Seeing Riley Keough I realized I have now officially lusted after 3 generations of the same family. Had the hots for Priscilla in her younger days before she ruined her face with cosmetic surgery. After she came of age but before she was married 14 times, thought Lisa Marie could be the next Mrs. S. Now I find that all this time Riley Keough was my dream date. The family is pretty F'd up so there's a real good chance she has some daddy issues.

I've never seen a cartoon aimed at children evoke such a feeling of existential dread. Parts of this thing have been rattling around my subconscious since I watched the Disney Channel premiere as a preschooler. I'd forgotten how many beautifully depressing moments there are in this movie. My heart still breaks for the flower.

Transformers the cartoon and toys were way after my time. I saw this in 07 and thought it was fun. Right amount of action, humor and a tolerable story. The sequels not so much.

4K presentation is head and shoulders above the HD DVD. Especially the sound. Oh My God that was cool.

Doc Hollywood. This is my second time viewing the film on cable and it is such a great film with a lot of heart, also Julie Warner in her prime...yowzers. To be fair, Bridget Fonda was also a cutie.

I had forgotten how feel good the film was...Michael J. Fox is just aces. It also looks stunning on a 4K tv and I would buy if it was actually released in 4K UHD.

The Florida Project - 4/5

Day-to-day life as seen through the eyes of a poor 6 year-old girl who lives with her young mother in a low budget motel on the outskirts of Disney World.
After the touching and hilarious Tangerine, Sean Baker does it again with another slice of life tale.

Detroit - 4/5

Kathryn Bigelow's scathing critique on racism and police brutality, and the major role they played in the 1967 Detroit riot.
After the disappointing Zero Dark Thirty, it's good to see Kathryn Bigelow back on point.

The Hateful Eight - 3/5

Finally got around to this one. Pretty underwhelmed. Some decent dialogue at times but way too long for the type of story it told. Certainly Tarantino's worst IMO.

Cook Off! (2007) — What a god-awful movie that no wonder took 10 years to get released and even then probably only because of Melissa McCarthy. Just terrible. 0/5

Dafoe should get a Oscar nomination.

Starring
Noomi Rapace
Orlando Bloom

Enjoyed this action flick, stumbled into it on a library rental and thought it was very solid

I watched Happy Death Day and I enjoyed it. It's a fun movie and the lead actress Jessica Rothe is great in it. I hope this will lead to her having a good career. 3.5/5
